What it is
Braintree ACH Direct Debit lets eligible merchants accept customer payments by debiting US bank accounts over the ACH network. Merchants need a custom client-side integration using the JavaScript v3 SDK; the method is not available in Braintree Drop-in UI. Bank verification options include network checks, micro-transfers, independent verification, and instant verification through secure open banking connections. Once an account is verified, its details can be tokenized as a one-time-use payment method nonce or vaulted as a persistent payment method token. Verification is required before the account can be used for transactions. Listed server-side SDKs cover Java, .NET, Node.js, PHP, Python, and Ruby, with a GraphQL implementation also linked. Standard ACH costs $0.75 per transaction, capped at $5.00; same-day ACH costs $1.50 per transaction plus $0.10.
