No single person automatically “owns” every AI-generated song. In the United States, the Copyright Office says music generated entirely by AI is not copyrightable, and a prompt alone does not make the prompter its author. A human may be able to claim copyright in original human-authored material or other sufficiently creative human contributions to a mixed work. How To Keep A Useful Record On Your Galaxy Phone

Publishing platforms add their own rules. Spotify said vocal impersonation is allowed only when the impersonated artist has authorized it, and it supports AI disclosures in credits. YouTube requires creators to label realistic altered or synthetic content that could be mistaken for a real person’s performance. You may have a service license to use a generated track while lacking copyright in material produced entirely by AI. Your clearest potential claim is to your own human-created material in a mixed work, subject to the limits of U.S. copyright guidance.
