Usually, you do not automatically own copyright in audio generated entirely by AI. The service may give you a license, ownership promise, or commercial-use permission under its plan terms, but U.S. copyright protection covers only the human-authored parts of a mixed work. The U.S. Copyright Office says prompts alone do not make you the author and entirely AI-generated works are not copyrightable. Read the Copyright Office guidance.
Ownership Has Three Separate Parts
Copyright Protection
If you wrote original lyrics, recorded a human performance, or made creative edits, those human-authored contributions may be protectable. The AI-only passages are not protected by copyright under the Copyright Office’s stated position. If you register a work containing more than a minimal amount of AI-generated material, you must disclose it and describe your human contribution. See the registration disclosure rule.

Your Platform License
A platform can still let you download, publish, or monetize a track under a contract even when copyright protection is limited. Check the plan that created the file, the permitted uses, attribution rules, and any restrictions on voices, samples, covers, or distribution.
Other People’s Rights
Do not clone or imitate a recognizable person’s voice without that person’s authorization. Obtain permission for uploaded samples and reference recordings, and review the service terms before making a cover or a track that could be mistaken for a real artist’s performance.

What These AI Music Services Say About Your Rights
| Service | What the supplied terms establish | Ownership or use limit to check |
|---|---|---|
| Suno | Tracks created as a paid subscriber are yours to keep and use; Suno also describes full commercial rights on Pro. | Free Plan has no commercial rights. Pro limits downloads to 20 songs per month; verify the plan active when you created the track. |
| Eleven Music | Tracks are cleared for broad commercial use. | Commercial rights vary by subscription tier and exclude film, television, and studio games; read the applicable terms. |
| Loudly | Loudly describes its music as royalty-free and commercially licensed, with a commercial license included. | Licensing rights depend on the plan. Free generated tracks are limited to 30 seconds. |
| Mureka | Downloaded tracks are described as royalty-free with full commercial rights across platforms and projects. | Confirm the download and plan terms for the specific track. |
| Musicful | You receive a non-exclusive, perpetual license; Musicful retains ownership and says commercial use is allowed. | Commercial use is limited to Standard and Pro plans. The service says it can provide a commercial licence certificate. |
| Songin.ai | Music from a paid plan is yours to use commercially, including on YouTube, Spotify, ads, and games. | Free downloads are watermarked MP3 files for personal use only. Premium is required for multitrack stems. |
| Tunee | Tunee says it gives users 100% of the rights and a full commercial license. | Free users may use music for personal projects with attribution. Tunee says copyright law is still evolving and cannot guarantee copyright protection. |
| OpenMusic AI | OpenMusic says each track is royalty-free, cleared for commercial use, and supplied with a license. | Plan terms still govern downloads and commercial licensing; paid access starts at $10.49 per month. |
Galaxy Phone Workflow For Keeping Evidence
- Choose a service whose stated license matches your intended use, such as a personal video, monetized channel, advertisement, or streaming release.
- On your Galaxy phone, save the plan name, billing date, receipt, and the service’s license page as PDFs or screenshots before downloading.
- Keep the prompt, lyrics, uploaded references, generated versions, and your edits together. These records help show which parts you contributed.
- Export the permitted format and stems only when your plan allows them. Do not assume a free MP3 carries the same rights as a paid export.
- Record permission for every human voice, sample, or reference performance you supplied, and avoid using a person’s identity without consent.
- Read the destination platform’s current upload rules before publishing, especially when the audio imitates a real performer or is mass-produced.
Suno, Musicful, and Tunee list mobile access or apps; the other services listed here are described as web or web-and-API products in the supplied information. On a Galaxy phone, use the service’s stated Android or web option and confirm compatibility on its site.
Publishing AI Audio On Spotify And YouTube
Spotify announced that vocal impersonation is allowed only when the impersonated artist authorized it. Spotify also supports DDEX AI disclosures in credits and uses an AI persona badge for identities that may be AI-generated. See Spotify’s September 2025 policy announcement and its AI Persona badge announcement.

YouTube requires disclosure of realistic altered or synthetic content that could be mistaken for a real person’s performance. Its inauthentic-content policy targets mass-produced, repetitive, or template-based uploads rather than AI use by itself. Review the clarified guidance.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Prompt And Editing Choices That Improve Your Claim
For a track you hope to protect, make your human role substantial and traceable: write or substantially revise the lyrics, specify an original arrangement, record a phone vocal or instrument, and make deliberate edits to timing, structure, or mix. Keep those source files. A text prompt by itself does not establish authorship under the Copyright Office’s guidance.

For example, on a Galaxy workflow you could draft lyrics in a notes app, generate an instrumental, record your own melody, replace sections, and export stems for a human-arranged final mix. The services above describe features such as section editing, stems, remixing, or voice tools, but availability depends on the product and plan shown in the table; check the vendor before relying on any one feature.
