To target a rap cadence at a specific BPM, put the number in the prompt, describe how the rapper should place syllables against the beat, then check the generated track’s pulse. Suno and Udio can create songs from prompts and lyrics, but the available product information does not establish a BPM lock or a way to enter an exact tempo. Treat the BPM as a prompt instruction, and check the vendor’s site for current tempo controls before relying on an exact match.
Choose The Tempo And Cadence
Pick the beat rate first. At 80 BPM, for example, one beat lasts 0.75 seconds; at 100 BPM, it lasts 0.6 seconds. In a common four-beat bar, that gives the rapper space to stretch a phrase, leave rests, or fit more syllables between beats. A fast-sounding flow can also sit over a slower beat by placing several syllables on each beat.

Decide whether the delivery should feel laid-back, clipped, or packed with quick syllables. Name the intended rests and phrase endings, too. BPM describes the beat’s pace; it does not by itself determine how many syllables the rapper delivers.

Generate A Rap Cadence At Your Target BPM
- Write a short lyric with clear phrasing. Use line breaks to show where each rap phrase starts and ends. Add punctuation or labels such as “rest” where you want a pause. Keep the wording manageable for the cadence you want.
- State the tempo and feel in the prompt. For example: “Create a rap song at 92 BPM with a steady four-beat pulse. Deliver the verse in a relaxed, conversational cadence, with short rests at the end of every second line. Use the supplied lyrics.” This asks for a target; it does not confirm the generator will lock to 92 BPM.
- Describe syllable placement. Add a concrete instruction such as “keep most phrases to about eight syllables across two bars, then leave the final beat open.” Adjust the syllable count and rests to suit your lyrics. Avoid asking for both a sparse, slow delivery and a dense, rapid-fire flow in the same instruction.
- Generate a version and listen for the pulse. Check whether the beat feels close to the requested pace and whether the words land where you intended. If the cadence is crowded, shorten the line or ask for fewer syllables; if it feels empty, add a short phrase or reduce the rests.
- Check the tempo by counting. Tap along with the main beat for 15 seconds and count the beats. Multiply that count by four for an approximate BPM. If you count around 23 beats, the estimate is about 92 BPM. This quick check is approximate; a half-time or double-time rap delivery can feel slower or faster than the underlying beat.
- Revise one instruction at a time. If the pulse is off, repeat the target BPM plainly and ask for a steadier beat. If the pulse is close but the flow is wrong, keep the tempo request and change only the cadence wording, such as “more space between phrases” or “fit more syllables between beats.” Generate another version and count again.
- Refine the strongest take. Use Suno’s listed editing options, such as section replacement or extension, when you want to work on a particular part. Udio lists lyric editing, audio transformation, and timeline editing in Sessions. The available facts do not establish that either tool’s editing controls can set or preserve an exact BPM, so check the vendor’s site for the current behavior.
