For an indie release or podcast, the strongest copyright-conscious starting points are SOUNDRAW for a stated worldwide, perpetual license, Loudly for commercially licensed tracks and podcast beds, and Soundverse AI Beat Maker for royalty-ready instrumentals with a commercial license available. “Copyright-free” is not a blanket guarantee: check the plan and license that apply to the specific track and intended use before publishing.
What Indie Artists And Podcasters Need From AI Music
A release needs music that can stand as the main work; a podcast usually needs a bed, intro, outro, or transition that leaves room for speech. Those are different jobs. Decide first whether you need an instrumental, a vocal song, or a short supporting cue, then check whether the service’s commercial terms cover your use and whether its export gives you enough control to finish the mix.

Prompt And Review Workflow For A Release Or Podcast
- Set the role. For a podcast, specify “instrumental intro,” “quiet speech bed,” or “short transition.” For an indie track, describe the song role and whether you want vocals or an instrumental. These are prompt examples, not guaranteed product presets.
- Describe musical constraints. Include the mood, approximate energy, tempo or key if the service supports those controls, and what should stay out of the way. For example: “Lo-fi instrumental bed, relaxed mood, soft drums, restrained bass, no vocals, leave space for spoken narration.” Soundverse specifically lists tempo, key, and mood controls.
- Make a distinct release prompt. For example: “Indie electronic instrumental, gradual build, warm synth texture, steady beat, concise ending, no vocals.” Treat this as direction for an original generation, not a request to imitate a named artist or existing recording.
- Review it in context. Play the cue under a spoken recording or alongside the demo. If you need to adjust the arrangement, choose a service whose listed editing, stem, or MIDI features match that task; confirm export availability on your plan.
- Save the license details. Keep the track and the plan or license information that applies to it. Before publishing, check the vendor’s current terms for your platform, monetization, and whether the track can be used as the main release or only as background music.
Rights Checks Before You Publish
- Match the license to the use. A service may distinguish free from paid plans, background use from distributing a song, or one plan from another. The options above do not all state the same scope; read the applicable vendor terms for your particular track.
- Get consent for voice and source material. If you use voice cloning, uploaded audio, samples, or a cover, use only voices and material you have permission to use, and check the platform’s terms for that feature and output. Mureka lists voice cloning; several services list uploaded audio or covers, but those features alone do not establish permission to use someone else’s voice or recording.
- Verify unsupported specifics. Genre availability, exact mobile behavior, distribution eligibility, and detailed license conditions are not established equally for every service here. Check the vendor’s site before relying on any of those specifics.
