What it is
LightPopup is a free, open-source WordPress plugin for displaying popups. It can trigger a popup on exit intent, after a time delay, at a selected scroll depth, or when a visitor clicks a CSS selector. Targeting can cover every page, selected post or page IDs, or selected post types, with frequency choices from always through once per session, day, week, month, or forever. Popup content is created in the WordPress block editor, including blocks, shortcodes, and forms from WPForms, Contact Form 7, or Gravity Forms. The site says its JavaScript is under 5KB gzipped and loads only where an active popup exists. It reports compatibility with WP Super Cache, WP Rocket, and SiteGround Cache. Dismissals use localStorage for a popup ID and expiry timestamp, without cookies, personal data, or tracking. Native HTML dialog support and stated WCAG 2.1 AA compliance accompany responsive layouts and a 44px minimum close-button target. Robothead OÜ maintains the GPL-2.0-or-later project.

Against
