Short answer: An AI song-cover API gives you a way to process audio; it does not give you permission to use the song, a singer’s identity, or a recording. Before an automated cover workflow publishes or monetizes anything, clear the composition rights, obtain consent for any identifiable voice model, confirm the source recording is licensed, and follow the API provider’s output terms.
What Rights An AI Cover API Does Not Replace
The Song And Lyrics
A cover of a song you did not write remains someone else’s composition. TwoShot states that publishing or monetizing such a cover needs the appropriate licence. Treat an API-generated version like a traditional cover and clear licensing before commercial release. If the song is yours, TwoShot says you own the result outright, subject to the provider’s terms.

The Singer’s Identity
Changing a vocal to resemble a specific real artist adds a likeness concern. Use a voice model only when you have the model owner’s permission or the service identifies it as officially licensed. Revocalize says it offers officially licensed AI voice models and lets creators make their voice available for licensing; its plan details also say commercial licensing is limited to paid plans.
The Source Audio
An API cannot make an unlicensed instrumental, vocal stem, or uploaded recording safe to reuse. Keep records showing that you own or are allowed to process every file sent to the workflow. UtaForge’s project guidance similarly recommends beginning with short material whose rights you hold, while noting that its external models, voice libraries, and media have separate terms.

Which Listed Tools Actually Fit An API Cover Workflow
| Tool | API Evidence | Plan Information | Rights And Consent Point |
|---|---|---|---|
| TwoShot AI Cover Generator | Connects with the TwoShot API and other named AI coding tools | Free to try; Pro is $9.50/month with 1,500 credits | Paid-plan outputs have commercial rights; copyright licensing may still be needed, and real-artist imitation can raise likeness concerns |
| Revocalize AI | API access is listed, alongside a VST plugin | Free plan: 5 conversion minutes/month and 1 Starter AI voice; paid plans from $9/month | Commercial licensing is limited to paid plans; officially licensed voices are available |
The supplied information does not establish API access for the other listed products. Applio offers CLI automation and commercial use under its MIT-licensed software, while UtaForge AI is self-hosted; neither entry establishes a public song-cover API. Check each vendor’s current documentation before designing an integration.
A Consent-First API Workflow For Galaxy Users
- Identify the song. Record whether you wrote the composition or which licence covers the composition and lyrics.
- Identify the voice. Use your own recordings, a consenting participant’s recordings, or a model explicitly marked as licensed. Do not treat a familiar artist name as permission.
- Check the provider terms. For TwoShot, separate the provider’s commercial-rights statement from the composition licence you still need. For Revocalize, check the paid plan and the terms attached to the selected voice.
- Limit the input. Send only audio you are allowed to process, and keep external model, library, and media terms attached to the project record.
- Generate and label. Preserve the request, model identity, permissions, and output terms with the exported file. Spotify announced support for DDEX AI disclosures in credits and an AI Persona badge for identities that may be AI-generated, so prepare clear credits when a distributor or platform requests them.
- Review before release. Confirm the result does not imply an artist’s endorsement and that your intended platform accepts the cover, voice use, and AI disclosure.
Prompt And Request Examples That Keep The Scope Clear
TwoShot API Request
A rights-aware request can specify: “Convert this vocal using the consented model ID [model], preserve the uploaded melody and lyrics, and return the result under the selected plan’s output terms.” Keep the composition licence ID and voice consent record beside the request. TwoShot describes preservation of melody, timing, phrasing, and lyrics, but it does not describe that preservation as a copyright licence.

For a model you own or are licensed to use, specify: “Transform this recorded vocal with voice model [model], retain the original accent and pronunciation, and return the stems for a licensed cover.” Revocalize describes custom singing voices, vocal transformation, and API access; confirm the selected model’s licence and the commercial status of your plan before release.
Publication Checks For An Automated Pipeline
- Composition and lyric permission is documented.

- The source recording and every external model or library have compatible terms.
- The chosen API plan permits the intended commercial use.
- Credits identify AI involvement when required by the distributor or platform.
- The title, artwork, and description do not suggest approval by the imitated artist.
