Using an AI music service’s commercial-use license does not automatically mean you own a copyright in the generated song. The U.S. Copyright Office says music generated entirely by AI is not copyrightable, prompts alone do not make you its author, and only human-authored parts of a mixed work may be protected. Separately, a service’s plan terms may give you permission to use or monetize a track. Those are different questions.
Copyright And A Service License Are Different
Copyright concerns who authored material that can receive copyright protection. A service license concerns what its terms allow you to do with music made using that service. A commercial-use license may permit publishing or monetizing a track without establishing that you own copyright in every part of it.

If you apply to register a work containing more than a minimal amount of AI-generated material, the Copyright Office says you must disclose that material and describe the human author’s contribution. Keep records of your own lyrics, melodies, performance, arrangement, and edits if you make them; a prompt by itself does not establish human authorship. U.S. Copyright Office AI report and guidance
What The Service Terms Allow
These examples show why checking the exact plan matters. They do not establish that a track qualifies for copyright protection, and plan terms can change. Review the vendor’s current terms for the track and plan you use.

| Service | What The Supplied Terms Establish | Important Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Suno | Songs created as a paid subscriber are described as yours to use, including in videos or an album. Pro is described as including commercial-use rights. | The Free Plan does not include commercial rights. Check the terms that apply to your subscription and the specific song. |
| Eleven Music | Generated tracks are described as cleared for broad commercial use, with rights varying by subscription tier. | Commercial rights exclude film, TV, and studio games. Check the subscription terms for other uses. |
| Soundverse AI Beat Maker | A commercial license is available for releasing and monetizing beats; Creator & Pro plans list commercial licenses. | The Free Tier starts with 1,000 tokens upon signup. Check the license and plan terms before release. |
| Musicful | Musicful describes downloaded tracks as covered by a non-exclusive, perpetual license for content such as videos, podcasts, and audiobooks, and says a commercial license certificate is provided. | Musicful retains ownership of generated tracks. Commercial use is limited to Standard/Pro; Free/Basic is non-commercial. |
A Rights Check You Can Do On Your Galaxy
Suno, Soundverse AI Beat Maker, and Musicful list Android availability. On a Galaxy phone, use the service’s Android app where available, or its website, to keep the creation and plan details together. Android availability does not itself grant commercial rights.
- Before generating, decide where the music will appear: a personal clip, monetized video, podcast, client project, or music release. Check that service’s current terms for that use and your plan.
- Write down what you contribute yourself. For example, supply original lyrics, record your own vocal, or make a distinct human arrangement or edit, then retain those source files and project versions. A prompt such as “make an upbeat pop song about a night drive” is a direction, not by itself proof that you authored the generated music.
- Save the track, the plan and license details that apply when you make or download it, and any license certificate the service offers. This can help document the permission the service says it provides; it does not guarantee copyright registration.
- Before uploading or distributing, check the destination platform’s current policies and provide any required AI disclosure. Keep the disclosure and service-license records with the release details.
Voices, Covers, And Samples Need Extra Care
Do not clone or imitate an identifiable singer, use someone else’s recording, or make a cover on the assumption that an AI service’s commercial license clears the person’s voice, the recording, or the underlying song. Get the relevant consent or permissions and check both the service’s terms and the rules for your intended release. The supplied service information does not establish that a particular tool clears those rights.

Spotify says vocal impersonation is allowed only when the impersonated artist has authorized it, and it supports AI disclosures in credits. YouTube requires creators to disclose realistic altered or synthetic content that could be mistaken for a real person’s performance using its altered-or-synthetic-content label. Copyright status, permission under a music service’s license, and acceptance for monetization by a distributor or platform are separate checks. YouTube’s inauthentic-content policy targets mass-produced, repetitive, or template-based uploads; AI use alone is not the stated test. Spotify has also announced measures addressing impersonation and mass-upload spam. A service license cannot promise that a destination will accept or monetize every upload.
