Overview

Pool IQ is pool-service software for operators who want route planning, chemistry records, invoicing, and AI tools in a shared workflow. It suits solo operators and growing service teams that need field operations alongside business analysis. Its free plan makes a small operation easy to start, but strict client, technician, and AI caps make growth a paid decision.

Key features

Routes and field records

Daily route planning combines drag-and-drop stop ordering, drive-time estimates, and GPS navigation, giving route managers practical tools to organize visits and technicians a way to navigate between stops. Chemistry logs cover chlorine, pH, alkalinity, CYA, and calcium, with a 0–100 pool health score to summarize readings without replacing the underlying measurements.

Every plan supports offline service logging with automatic syncing once connectivity returns, a useful baseline for field work. CSV import covers clients and routes; assisted onboarding on Business and higher plans is better suited to teams bringing established operations over.

AI, invoicing, and security

AI tools include chemistry forecasting, profitability analysis, route optimization, anomaly and algae detection, and natural-language business questions. The breadth is appealing, but quotas vary considerably: the free tier gets three standard AI uses monthly, while premium AI starts on Business. QuickBooks invoice syncing is available on paid plans from Pro upward.

Pool IQ says data is sent over HTTPS/TLS and encrypted at rest. Payments go through Stripe, and the company says it does not store full card numbers or bank details on its servers. After cancellation, customers have 90 days to export service logs, client records, and invoices before data is permanently deleted.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and stays free without a credit card. Its 25-client, one-technician ceiling, 90-day service history, and three standard AI uses per month make it a credible fit for a solo operator testing a small route, but not for a team that needs a longer record or more capacity.

Pro is 29.00 USD per month, billed monthly, for up to 200 clients and three technicians, unlimited service history, and 50 standard AI uses monthly. It is the practical step up for a small operator who has outgrown the free caps; it does not include a stated premium AI allowance.

Business is 79.00 USD per month, billed monthly, and raises capacity to 500 clients and 10 technicians. It includes 300 standard and 50 premium AI uses per month, plus assisted onboarding. This tier fits a larger team that wants migration help and premium AI, though its client and technician caps remain finite.

Enterprise is 149.00 USD per month for up to 1,000 clients and 25 technicians, with 800 standard and 150 premium AI uses monthly. Corporate is 249.00 USD per month for up to 5,000 clients and 100 technicians, with 2,000 standard and 400 premium AI uses monthly; it also adds a priority support queue and dedicated account manager. Unlimited costs 499.00 USD per month and removes client, technician, and standard AI limits, while premium AI remains capped at 600 uses monthly; it includes priority 24/7 support. These higher tiers fit larger operations, but teams relying heavily on premium AI should account for the remaining quota.

There is no free trial. Paid plans are shown with monthly prices; only Pro and Business explicitly state monthly billing. QuickBooks syncing begins at Pro.

Platforms

Pool IQ is available on Android, iOS, and the web. Its mobile apps support offline service logging across all plans, with records syncing automatically when connectivity returns.

Who it's for

Pool IQ is a strong match for solo operators and pool-service teams that coordinate routes, maintain chemistry records, and want invoices and AI business tools in the same system. The free plan is most appropriate for a one-technician operation with no more than 25 clients. Teams that need more than three technicians, longer service history, QuickBooks syncing, or more AI usage will need a paid tier. Those wanting unlimited premium AI should look elsewhere, since even Unlimited caps it at 600 monthly uses.

Pros and cons

Pro: Route ordering, drive-time estimates, GPS navigation, chemistry readings, and a health score bring useful field workflows together.
Pro: Offline logging is included on every plan, avoiding a paid-tier requirement for technicians working without a reliable connection.
Pro: Capacity scales across six tiers, with assisted onboarding from Business and dedicated account support on Corporate.
Con: The free plan's 25-client, one-technician, 90-day history, and three-use AI limits constrain even modest growth.
Con: Premium AI is reserved for Business and above and remains capped at 600 monthly uses on Unlimited.
Con: The free plan has no QuickBooks syncing; that starts at Pro, and there is no free trial.

Alternatives

Pool Service Software is a useful starting point for comparing more options in the category.

Verdict

Choose Pool IQ if your pool-service operation needs route coordination and chemistry records alongside invoicing and AI tools, and its client, technician, and AI quotas fit your scale. The free plan is a sensible starting point for one technician, while Pro is the clear step up for a small team needing more clients and unlimited service history. Look elsewhere if premium AI volume is central to your workflow or you need capacity beyond the tier limits without paying for Unlimited.
