Overview

Forge brings installed-asset data together for real-time enterprise insights. Its AI-enabled approach combines predictive models with operating constraints, an important distinction for organizations where recommendations must account for process limits and operational decisions. Honeywell targets industrial operations, connected buildings, life sciences, supply chain, and OT cybersecurity. That breadth is useful to organizations with needs across several environments, but buyers should evaluate the individual Forge applications rather than assume every capability comes as one package.

Some Forge cloud products run on Azure, AWS, or Salesforce Cloud. Honeywell identifies SOC 2 Type II coverage for Forge Performance+ and several named Forge products, and describes a security operations center that monitors incidents under a defined response policy. Its product security incident response team handles vulnerability reports. These are relevant assurances for enterprise buyers, though they do not make every Forge product identical in deployment or security scope.

Key features

Process control and field rounds

Advanced Process Control coordinates planning, control, and blending in real time, with cloud-based or on-premise analytics. That flexibility can suit plants balancing centralized analysis with local deployment needs. Term-based licensing and feature choices mean buyers need to match the license to the process requirements rather than expect one fixed package.

Inspection Rounds handles operator-round configuration and scheduling, monitors activity, supports issue review, and produces compliance reports. Offline capture with later synchronization is a practical advantage for field teams working where connectivity is intermittent. Support for major operating systems and Honeywell wearables broadens device options. Integrations with SAP, historians, SQL servers, Honeywell DynAMo Logbook, and Excel can help fit the workflow into existing operations, though buyers should confirm the specific connection they need.

Building data and operational security

The Forge API Marketplace offers bidirectional access to building data and points to connections with building management systems, IoT sensors, computer-aided facility management platforms, digital twins, and enterprise applications. APIs are an add-on to existing Forge applications, not a standalone substitute, and developer tools include API keys, a sandbox, documentation, and testing. The broader Forge capability set also includes real-time stream processing, anomaly detection, machine-learning tools, OT asset discovery, passive monitoring, and SIEM integration. For security and compliance workflows, capabilities include alerts through SMS, voice, email, desktop, and mobile channels, two-way messaging, document control, audit management, corrective actions, nonconformance tracking, compliance records, and approval workflows. These capabilities make the portfolio relevant to operational risk and governance, but buyers should verify which selected product includes each one.

Pricing

Honeywell Forge products use custom pricing; prospective customers can request a demo and discuss product-specific licensing with Honeywell. Advanced Process Control has term-based licensing and feature choices, so the fit depends on the required capabilities and license term. There is no published entry tier or trial to compare against a paid deployment, which makes Forge harder to assess for smaller teams or buyers who need a firm budget before engaging sales.

Platforms

Forge is listed for Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, Windows, and web, with APIs for integrations. Deployment options include on-premises, and some products also use cloud infrastructure. The practical choice depends on the application: Inspection Rounds supports mobile field use and offline capture, while Advanced Process Control can use cloud-based or on-premise analytics.

Who it's for

Forge is a sensible candidate for industrial operators and regulated organizations that need to connect operational systems, coordinate process decisions, manage field rounds, or integrate building data. Its application-specific licensing and deployment options are more likely to suit larger organizations with defined requirements and procurement support than buyers seeking a self-serve, low-cost tool.

Pros and cons

Pros: Covers distinct operational needs, from process control and field rounds to building APIs and OT security capabilities, giving complex organizations room to select relevant applications.
Pros: Inspection Rounds supports offline collection and later synchronization, reducing dependence on continuous field connectivity.
Pros: Cloud-based and on-premise analytics options for Advanced Process Control accommodate different deployment preferences.
Cons: Custom pricing and term- and feature-based licensing require direct sales discussions, making budget comparison less straightforward.
Cons: APIs are an add-on to Forge applications, so organizations seeking only building-data access may need a broader product commitment.
Cons: The portfolio spans many use cases, so buyers must validate product-level capabilities and licensing instead of treating Forge as a uniform suite.

Alternatives

For OT and ICS security monitoring, compare OT and ICS Security Monitoring Software alongside options including EmberOT, which offers a free PCAP analyzer for users with a valid school or business email, and Nozomi Networks Platform, whose no-charge Vantage SaaS is used to license hardware and Guardian nodes. Claroty CTD is an on-premises option with federal OT cybersecurity controls and mobile flyaway kits; Claroty xDome is a modular SaaS platform with pricing by sales inquiry. Radiflow iSID and Dragos Platform are alternatives whose vendors invite buyers to request a demo or platform demo, respectively. Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity Platform targets enterprise OT/IoT environments, while OTDefend provides a custom solution proposal and tailored pricing.

Verdict

Honeywell Forge merits consideration from industrial and regulated organizations that need application-specific operational analytics, process control, field workflows, or connected-building data access. Its breadth, offline field capability, and deployment choices are the strongest reasons to shortlist it. Look elsewhere if you need transparent pricing, a simple standalone product, or a low-friction way to evaluate costs before a sales conversation.
