Overview

Homi Appliance is a management platform for independent appliance repair work in the United States. It is a strong fit for solo technicians and small teams that want scheduling, customer histories, and service documents in one place. The case for it is a broad set of launch features at no charge; businesses approaching 15 members will need to plan for the cap.

Key features

Homi combines appointment and job scheduling with technician assignments and rescheduling, keeping visit details alongside the work. Work orders and a technician mobile app are included, which makes the package relevant to businesses coordinating field jobs rather than just maintaining a customer list.

Customer profiles can bring together job history, photos, payments, and registered appliances. That context can help technicians handling repeat repairs, where prior work and the specific appliance matter. Homi’s focus is narrow by design: it is built around appliance repair, not a general-purpose field-service operation.

The platform creates branded PDF invoices, estimates, and diagnostic reports, with sharing through WhatsApp. This covers common paperwork for a small repair business, but teams that need other document formats or sharing routes may find the workflow restrictive.

GPS tracking for the team requires consent and is limited to configured working hours. That gives businesses a bounded way to coordinate technicians without sharing location continuously. English and Spanish are supported across the interface, documents, notifications, and support, a useful consideration for teams and customers working in either language.

Homi works as a Progressive Web App: it opens in a browser and can be installed on a phone without an app-store download. Its FAQ says users can view schedules and customer histories and create jobs offline, with changes syncing when connectivity returns. Homi says it uses encrypted connections, authentication, role permissions, and separation between businesses’ data, but has no independent security certification. Businesses with formal certification requirements should weigh that limitation before adopting it.

Homi says it does not sell or rent personal information or provide business data to others for their own advertising. Its named service providers include Firebase and Google Cloud for infrastructure and notifications, Google Maps for map features, Brevo for operational email, and Stripe for Homi billing when enabled. Support is offered by email, with a stated response time of less than 24 hours.

Pricing

Launch access: 0.00 USD per free, billed Free during launch, with no credit card required. Full access includes up to 15 total members per business, counting the administrator, technicians, and dispatch. Dispatch and scheduling, work orders, technician mobile app, and invoicing and payments are included. For a solo operator or small business, that is a substantial starting package without a paid entry tier. The tradeoff is the firm 15-person ceiling; larger teams should not assume the same terms will cover their needs. Subscription prices are not published.

The launch plan is free, so there is no paid renewal price to weigh for that access.

Platforms

Homi supports Android, iOS, and the web. Its phone access is browser-based and installable as a Progressive Web App, rather than requiring a download from an app store.

Who it's for

Homi is aimed at solo appliance technicians and small repair businesses; its FAQ describes small businesses as having 2–10 people. It is best suited to operators who need jobs, customer records, and paperwork together, and who can work within the 15-member launch limit. Larger organizations or buyers requiring independently certified security should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Full launch access costs 0.00 USD per free and includes scheduling, work orders, a technician app, and invoicing and payments, giving small businesses a broad operational toolkit without a credit card.
Pros: Customer records can combine appliance details, photos, payment information, and job history, supporting repeat service work.
Pros: Offline job creation and access to schedules and customer histories can keep basic field work moving when connectivity drops.
Cons: Launch access stops at 15 members per business, which constrains growing teams.
Cons: Homi has no independent security certification, a concern for businesses that require third-party assurance.
Cons: Branded paperwork is generated as PDFs and shared through WhatsApp, limiting the stated document and sharing workflow.

Alternatives

Appliance Repair Software is the broader directory for comparing options in this category.

Choose ServiceM8 if you want a free option with a clearly bounded allowance of one user and 30 jobs per month, or need its listed macOS platform. Choose STEL Order if its free plan’s catalog, CRM, estimates, billing, expenses, calendar, reports, and mobile app are a closer match to your workflow.

ServicePower is another option for buyers considering employed or contracted workforce plans. Aptora is a paid alternative with a customer access portal plan. ServiceWorks is a paid option with a listed Bronze plan. Agoserve is a paid alternative with a free trial and plans priced by license count. GetTimePad is a paid option with per-device connectivity pricing and an SMS bundle. Rossware is a paid alternative with separate add-on plans for status updates and dispatch links.

Verdict

Homi Appliance is a sensible choice for solo technicians and small appliance repair businesses that want scheduling, customer records, and service paperwork together without paying during launch. Its useful offline access and 15-member allowance strengthen the case for a small operation. Look elsewhere if your team exceeds that limit or needs independent security certification.
