Overview

Fabric is a connected workspace for people who want files, notes, meetings, research, and project work alongside AI tools. It is best suited to individuals and teams juggling different kinds of work, especially those who share materials with clients or stakeholders. Its broad toolset is compelling, but storage, upload, and AI limits make plan choice consequential.

Key features

A visual canvas and writing tools sit alongside tasks, project management, meeting recording, and transcription. AI note search and call summaries can help users find and act on information across their workspace; agents can also prepare for meetings, draft status updates, and monitor competitors. These features suit people who want research, meeting notes, and project coordination in one place, but may be more than someone needs from a straightforward note app.

Fabric advertises more than 50 integrations, including Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, Notion, Linear, GitHub, Figma, and Salesforce. Its AI can take actions across connected apps, including sending emails, creating tasks, updating CRMs, and retrieving invoices. That makes it a stronger fit for users who want connected workflows than for those who only need a place to store notes.

Spaces can be published as client or stakeholder portals without requiring viewers to log in, and shared content can be password-protected. That is useful for sharing selected work externally without asking recipients to join Fabric. The company says files are encrypted at rest with 256-bit AES and protected in transit by SSL/TLS. Users can delete their data, opt out of anonymized aggregated service-improvement data, and grant or deny phone permissions.

Pricing

Fabric has a free plan, though its storage, upload, and AI allowances are not described. The paid individual plans are billed annually: Plus is $8.00 USD per month ($96 per year), Pro is $18.00 USD per month ($216 per year), and Max is $54.00 USD per month ($648 per year). Plus includes 50GB of storage, a 50MB file-upload limit, 100 spaces, and light AI usage. It suits lighter personal use, but its upload cap is restrictive for larger files.

Pro raises storage to 250GB, the file-upload limit to 5GB, and spaces to unlimited; it includes moderate AI usage and up to 10 scheduled AI jobs. It is the more balanced choice for regular project work. Max provides 1TB of storage, a 5GB upload limit, unlimited spaces, heavy AI usage, and up to 50 scheduled jobs. It best suits users who rely heavily on AI and need substantial storage, though the higher annual cost is hard to justify for occasional use.

Teams costs $16.00 USD per month per user, billed yearly. It includes 2TB or more of storage, 5GB file uploads, unlimited spaces, and a 14-day free trial, making it the relevant option for teams that need shared capacity. Enterprise has custom pricing and includes more usage, priority support, account management, deep organizational access control, and enterprise analytics.

Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time, but Fabric does not offer refunds. That makes the 14-day Teams trial useful for evaluating that plan before committing; the other paid plans have no trial length specified.

Platforms

Fabric supports web, iOS, Android, and a browser extension. Its broader platform range also includes macOS, Windows, and an API, giving users options across mobile, desktop, and connected services.

Who it's for

Fabric is aimed at founders, solopreneurs, agencies, creatives, students, researchers, and teams. It is most persuasive for people who want meetings, files, notes, projects, AI search, and connected-app actions in a shared workspace. Those who need only a focused code-snippet library or basic note storage may prefer a narrower tool.

Pros and cons

Pros: A broad workspace combines meeting transcription, project tools, AI note search, and connected-app actions, reducing the need to separate those workflows.
Pros: External portals do not require viewer logins, and shared content can be password-protected.
Pros: Plans scale from individual use to teams and enterprise access controls, with higher tiers providing substantially more storage and AI capacity.
Cons: The Plus plan's 50MB upload cap may rule it out for users handling larger files.
Cons: The free plan's caps are not described, making it difficult to judge whether it can support sustained use.
Cons: Annual billing and a no-refund policy make it important to choose carefully; only Teams has a stated 14-day trial.

Alternatives

For a dedicated snippet manager, Snippets offers a free plan with unlimited workspaces and notes, plus GitHub and folder sync. Cacher is another freemium option for snippet libraries, but its free tier caps private snippets at 15 and monthly uploads at 50MB. Code Snippets is a web-only choice with a free plan that syncs snippets across sites, while its monthly plan starts at $3.90 for one website.

SnipIT may suit users who want a free, locally stored browser tool with code, AI, links, and web-clipping vaults. massCode is a free, open-source option with no account required. For teams already organizing code in repositories, Bitbucket offers a free tier for up to five users, with unlimited public and private repositories. CodeKeep is a browser-extension and web option with unlimited public snippets but no private snippets on its free plan. DevKeep is a free web-based alternative.

Readers comparing tools for more specific needs can also browse Code Snippet Managers, AI Script Writing Software, AI Research Assistants, Meeting Recording Software, Voice Note Apps, and Meeting Notes Software.

Verdict

Choose Fabric if you want one workspace to connect files, meetings, projects, and app-based actions, and its storage and AI allowances fit your workload. Look elsewhere if you need a narrowly focused tool, a generous upload allowance at the entry paid tier, or refundable subscriptions.
