Overview

DaySmart Salon brings appointment booking, payments, staff management and reporting together for beauty businesses. It is strongest for salons that want clients to book across web and social channels; Basic starts at $29 per month, but teams need a higher tier for more users and added marketing tools.

Key features

Booking and attendance

Clients can book around the clock through a salon website, Instagram, Facebook or Google Business listing, and salons can require approval before appointments are confirmed. Automated text and email reminders, two-way text confirmations, cancellation and rescheduling support, and upfront deposits give salons practical ways to reduce missed visits and protect appointment revenue. Basic includes online booking, confirmations, social booking and deposits, so a solo operator gets the core booking tools without buying a higher tier.

Payments and staff operations

Built-in processing accepts card, contactless and mobile payments, with funds deposited the next business day. Commission calculations, performance tracking, digital time clocks and per-staff reporting make the product more useful to salons managing employees than a booking calendar alone. Inventory tracking, memberships and packages, a staff calendar and multi-location support extend its reach to businesses coordinating products and more than one site.

Mobile and desktop

The mobile app supports adding clients, booking appointments and checking them out. A desktop download is also available; version 13 and later requires .NET Framework 4.8, a consideration for Windows users setting up that version.

Integrations and support

US customers on Deluxe, Premium or Platinum subscriptions can connect QuickBooks Online, which requires a separate QuickBooks subscription. Glammatic is DaySmart's partner for custom salon websites with automated SEO, mobile optimization and integrated online booking. Phone support runs 9 AM to 9 PM ET Monday through Friday, live chat is offered Monday through Saturday, and weekday email replies are expected within 24 hours.

Pricing

DaySmart Salon has a 14-day free trial and no free plan. Basic costs 29.00 USD per month for one user, online booking, appointment confirmations, Instagram and Facebook booking, payment processing and online deposits. It is the entry point for solo professionals, but its one-user cap rules it out for a staffed salon.

Deluxe costs 69.00 USD per month and allows three users, adding online gift cards, digital forms, a client loyalty system, basic payroll and email marketing. It suits small teams that need client-retention and administrative tools. Deluxe Growth costs 149.00 USD per month and adds text marketing, two-way texting and reputation management to Deluxe, a sizable increase best justified when those outreach tools matter to the business.

Premium costs 199.00 USD per month, includes everything in Deluxe Growth, raises the allowance to six users, adds QuickBooks Connect and increases the text and email plan. It is the clearest fit for larger teams that need accounting integration, though QuickBooks itself is a separate subscription. Premium Growth has custom pricing and includes unlimited users, 5,000 text messages per month and 20,000 email messages per month; those quotas make it the tier to consider when a business needs larger team capacity and substantial messaging volume.

Platforms

DaySmart Salon is available on Android, iOS, web and Windows. The mobile app covers client additions, bookings and checkout, while the desktop download has a .NET Framework 4.8 requirement for version 13 and higher.

Who it's for

DaySmart identifies hair salons, barbershops, nail salons, skin clinics, independent stylists and suite renters as intended customers. Its booking and deposit tools work for solo operators, while staff controls, inventory and multi-location support give growing salons reasons to consider higher tiers. The user limits make it less compelling for teams that need room for more than six users without moving to custom-priced Premium Growth.

Pros and cons

Pro: Clients can book through websites, social profiles and Google Business, while reminders, two-way confirmations and deposits help salons manage attendance.
Pro: Payments, staff reporting, time clocks, commissions and inventory support cover operational needs beyond scheduling.
Pro: Multi-location support and inventory make it relevant to businesses coordinating multiple sites.
Con: There is no free plan, and the lowest tier is limited to one user.
Con: The jump from $69 per month for Deluxe to $149 per month for Deluxe Growth is substantial for salons that primarily want email marketing and basic payroll.
Con: QuickBooks Online requires its own subscription, adding cost to the Premium integration.

Alternatives

Choose Salonist if a free entry point matters more than DaySmart's staff and operational breadth: its free Market Place Listing covers 50 appointments per month, online booking, calendar and scheduling, and staff shift management. GlossGenius is another option, with a $28.00 USD per month Standard plan that includes a custom booking website, unlimited client notifications, email and text marketing, inventory and retail features.

Consider Kitomba for its stock management, integrated EFTPOS and marketing tools, or Meevo for its salon-and-spa plans. Phorest, Wellyx Salon POS, Boulevard and Easy Salon are also alternatives to compare.

For a wider shortlist, browse Salon POS Software for payment-focused options, Esthetician Software for skin-care businesses, Salon Membership Software for recurring client programs, Salon Software for general salon tools, Salon CRM Software for client-management alternatives, or Salon Payroll Software for payroll-focused products.

Verdict

DaySmart Salon is a strong choice for independent beauty professionals and salons that want online booking, payment processing and staff operations under one roof, with multi-location support for businesses that grow. Its main drawback is the paid, user-limited plan ladder: choose another product if you need a free plan or want to avoid a steep price increase for team and marketing capacity.
