Overview

TestMu AI brings test planning, authoring, execution, analysis, and optimization into one platform. Its scope includes real-device and local testing, automated execution, and visual comparison, with integrations for common project, CI, and messaging tools. REST APIs cover test management, execution, and artifact retrieval; webhooks send event notifications.

Deployment choices range from SaaS cloud to private cloud and on-premise. Test execution can run fully air-gapped, but AI-agent features require connectivity to TestMu AI APIs. That distinction matters for organizations with strict network isolation: the execution environment can be isolated, but the agent-assisted workflow cannot be wholly disconnected.

TestMu AI states that it is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified and GDPR and HIPAA compliant. It specifies TLS 1.2 or higher for data in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest. Default data retention is 60 days; Enterprise customers can arrange custom retention.

The company says LambdaTest evolved into TestMu AI on January 12, 2026, a useful detail for teams encountering the former name in existing workflows.

Key features

Agent-assisted testing

The agents are intended to span the testing cycle rather than only produce test scripts. KaneAI plans meter use in monthly credits per agent, so the right tier depends on how much authoring and execution capacity a team needs. The plan structure is explicit, but the single-agent allowances may be limiting for teams that need broader concurrent usage without Enterprise terms.

Integrations and deployment

Integrations include Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Azure Pipelines, Slack, and Microsoft Teams. That range makes TestMu AI a practical fit for teams coordinating tests across issue tracking, build pipelines, and collaboration tools. Business-hours email and chat support cover the standard offering; Enterprise adds phone and dedicated Slack support, a custom priority SLA, and a dedicated customer success manager.

Pricing

TestMu AI is freemium: a free plan is available, there is no free trial, and paid plans are billed annually. The general pricing note says paid plans start at $15/mo (annual), while the named KaneAI tiers have these stated prices:

KaneAI Starter — 17.00 USD per month (billed annually): 1 agent, 2,000 credits/month per agent, local Kane CLI authoring, and 1 Test Manager seat per agent. This is the entry paid tier for a single-agent workflow; its smaller credit allowance and local authoring make it less suited to heavier or cloud-concurrent work.
KaneAI Pro — 89.00 USD per month (billed annually): 1 agent, 12,000 credits/month per agent, 1 concurrent cloud authoring session per agent, and 100 HyperExecute minutes/month. It is a better match for teams that need cloud authoring and a larger monthly allowance.
KaneAI Max — 179.00 USD per month (billed annually): 1 agent, 25,000 credits/month per agent, 1 concurrent cloud authoring session per agent, and 300 HyperExecute minutes/month. The higher allowance fits more intensive usage, though it still specifies one agent.
Enterprise — custom pricing: unlimited credits, custom Test Manager seats and authoring concurrency, negotiated HyperExecute minutes, SSO, and advanced access controls. It is the tier for organizations needing expanded access and negotiated execution capacity.

The free plan has no stated allowance details, so its fit cannot be compared with the metered paid tiers. No trial means paid users should choose with the annual billing commitment in mind.

Platforms

TestMu AI supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, Windows, web, API, and self-hosted environments. That range makes it relevant to teams testing across mobile, desktop, browser, and hosted setups rather than a single platform.

Who it's for

TestMu AI is strongest for software teams that want agent-assisted test workflows, integrations with their existing delivery stack, and a choice of cloud or self-managed deployment. It is less compelling for teams that need a fully disconnected AI-agent workflow, or those whose usage needs exceed a single agent but do not warrant Enterprise arrangements.

Pros and cons

Pros: Agents cover planning through optimization, giving teams one workflow for multiple testing stages.
Pros: REST APIs, webhooks, and a broad integration roster support automation around test management and delivery pipelines.
Pros: SaaS, private cloud, and on-premise choices accommodate different deployment preferences, and execution can be air-gapped.
Cons: AI-agent features still require connectivity to TestMu AI APIs, so air-gapped execution does not provide a fully disconnected agent workflow.
Cons: Starter, Pro, and Max each specify 1 agent, and Pro and Max allow only 1 concurrent cloud authoring session per agent.
Cons: The paid tiers are billed annually and there is no free trial, making experimentation with a paid tier less flexible.

Alternatives

Consider pCloudy if a paid, no-free-plan option with a free trial and a browser-cloud manual testing plan suits your needs. BrowserStack Live is another paid option with a free plan and trial, and a Freelancer plan priced at 12.50 USD per month billed annually.

Choose TestCafe if a free, open-source test runner is a better fit than an agent-led platform. AWS Device Farm may suit teams looking for paid device testing with a free trial and per-instance-minute desktop browser pricing.

Katalon TestCloud offers a free plan and trial, with local authoring and execution in its Free tier. Browserling is a freemium alternative with a free plan and a Starter tier at 9.00 USD per month billed annually.

For open-source browser automation tools and libraries, consider Selenium. TestGrid is a paid option with a free trial and a custom device lab plan.

Verdict

Choose TestMu AI if your team wants agent-assisted testing, API-driven workflows, and deployment flexibility in a single quality engineering platform. The main reason to choose it is that combination; the main reason to look elsewhere is that AI-agent features require TestMu API connectivity, alongside annual billing and one-agent paid tiers.
