What it is
Argos is a visual testing platform that stores screenshots uploaded by a customer’s test suite, compares them across builds and supports review of visual changes. It detects screenshot differences and can diff Markdown, JSON, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, YAML and plain text. Argos works with Playwright, Cypress, Storybook, WebdriverIO, its CLI or another framework. Integrations include GitHub Actions, Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare, GitHub, GitLab, Slack, Discord and Microsoft Teams. For agents, it provides a remote MCP server, CLI workflows and a REST API for inspecting diffs, reviewing builds, collaborating and deploying previews. The Hobby plan is free forever and allows up to 5,000 screenshots, visual and snapshot testing, public links retained 30 days, and GitHub and GitLab integration. Pro costs $100 a month, billed monthly based on usage, and includes 35,000 screenshots, one-year retention and team collaboration; extra screenshots cost $0.004 and Storybook screenshots $0.0015. Argos says its platform and SDKs are open source under the MIT license, with SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliance.
