OpenVolMgr
What it is
OpenVolMgr is an open-source resource management platform for nonprofits, shelters and community-led organizations coordinating staff and volunteers. Teams can be organized into groups, such as drivers or supervisors, with secure whitelisted mailing. Dynamic task assignment and automated time tracking help manage shifts and record contributions. The platform also offers direct communication between staff and volunteers, granular permissions and live analytics for administrative oversight. Documentation covers recurring shifts, overlapping tasks, verification logic, volunteer groups and group supervisors. Users can export shift histories as CSV and generate contribution letters. Security guidance includes setting up multi-factor authentication and whitelisting approved domains. Organizations may host the software on their own infrastructure or request managed deployment with hosting and setup. The managed option includes priority support and maintenance, while the knowledge base says ticketing is available for Standard and Enterprise only. The project began in a local homeless shelter and was developed using staff feedback. Self-hosting costs nothing; managed deployment pricing is by custom infrastructure quote.
