NAB Easy Tap
What it is
NAB Easy Tap turns an NFC-enabled Android device into a terminal for taking contactless payments away from a fixed checkout. It requires Android 14 or later and an internet connection, and does not require a separate reader. Listed payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, eftpos, Apple Pay, Google Wallet and Samsung Pay; eligible Visa, Mastercard and eftpos transactions carry a 1.30% per-tap rate. The pay-as-you-go plan is free, with a fee charged only when a payment is taken and no setup or terminal hardware fees. Users can review transactions, daily totals and sales reports covering daily, weekly and quarterly periods. Transactions sent to a NAB Business Everyday Account before 9:30pm AEST/AEDT receive same-day settlement, seven days a week. NAB says payments are processed by the bank with security designed for mobile payments. The app does not connect to existing accounting software. Applicants need an active ABN and an eligible business or organization role, and must meet NAB’s merchant-facility history condition.
