Jupiter
What it is
Jupiter is a learning management and student information system for public K–12 schools, from small charter schools to districts serving very large student populations. Its gradebook lets teachers manage homework, tests, and essays, with grading by points, percentages, letter grades, or rubrics. Teachers can enter grades by assignment, student, grid, or seating chart. Jupiter also supports online file submission and grading, imports from Google Drive and Dropbox, and tools including Paste Blocker and Lockdown. Integrations include Google Classroom LTI, Clever, Single Sign-On, and hundreds of learning apps. It can synchronize students, staff, courses, sections, and rosters nightly with third-party SIS platforms. Android, iPhone, and iPad apps are available, alongside browser access on Chromebook, Mac, and Windows without plug-ins. Jupiter states that it is FERPA compliant and encrypts data in transit and at rest. It offers a free trial, but no free plan; pricing is available on request. Scheduler, Enrollment, Payments, and State Reporting are optional upgrades.
