What it is
IBM watsonx Assistant is a chatbot platform for building branded live conversations across devices, applications, and communication channels. It uses natural-language understanding and machine-learning models customized with customer data to answer in real time. Actions organize customer tasks into individual conversation steps, while a Watson Discovery integration can search corporate data collections for answers. Deployment options include managed IBM Cloud service, on-premises installation with IBM Cloud Pak for Data, and API, self-hosted, or web use through multichannel channels. Integrations include web chat, phone, Facebook Messenger, Genesys Bot Connector, Microsoft Teams, Slack, SMS, WhatsApp with Twilio, and Search. Web chat can transfer conversations to live-agent integrations such as Genesys Web Messenger, NICE CXone, Salesforce, and Zendesk. A free Lite plan and free 30-day Trial are available. Plus costs $140 a month for the first 1,000 monthly users. The v2 API requires Plus or higher. IBM is upgrading eligible instances to watsonx Orchestrate while existing resources remain operational.
