Overview

Trust & Will is an online service for preparing or updating wills, trusts, and related estate-planning documents. It suits people who want a state-specific plan and a choice of document bundles, with attorney access as a paid extra. Its breadth is useful, but the documents still need signing and notarization, and the service does not replace legal advice.

Key features

Document bundles

The Will Plan brings together a Last Will & Testament, HIPAA Authorization, Living Will, and Power of Attorney. It is a broader fit than a will-only product for someone who also wants health and financial directives in the same plan. The Trust Plan adds a revocable living trust, pour-over will, schedule of assets, and certification of trust, making it the relevant option for people whose plans call for a trust; its higher price is harder to justify if they only need a basic will.

Membership and attorney support

Membership features include ongoing plan edits, digital downloads, document shipping, a Digital Safe, a Plan Strength Score, and an AI assistant. The Essentials membership adds personalized plan support, Digital Safe, Plan Strength Score, and an advanced AI assistant for a recurring annual fee. Attorney Support provides one year of phone access to a licensed estate-planning attorney, a useful route for readers who want a human contact, but it is unavailable in Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Oregon, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Mobile access and document handling

The iOS and Android apps let members review documents and add or track assets; document editing and plan updates happen on the website. That split makes the apps useful for checking a plan or keeping track of assets while away from a computer, but not for making edits on mobile. The company says stored data is protected with AES 256-bit encryption and data in transit with TLS 1.2, and that it has undergone SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA examinations resulting in an independent CPA report and certification. After an account deletion request, associated information and documents are removed, with security backups finally removed 35 days later.

Plans are state-specific, but a completed plan is not legally binding until signed and notarized after receipt or download. Trust & Will is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and says its forms are not a substitute for an attorney. Customer support is included and available Monday through Friday.

Pricing

Trust & Will uses a freemium model, with a free plan and paid options from $199. The free Basic membership provides estate-plan creation with no ongoing membership; it does not include the ongoing membership features. Essentials costs $49/year and adds personalized plan support, a Digital Safe, Plan Strength Score, and advanced AI assistant. It fits people who want membership tools after creating a plan, but it is a recurring fee rather than a one-time document purchase.

The Will Plan starts at $199 once and includes a Last Will & Testament, HIPAA Authorization, Living Will, and Power of Attorney. The Trust Plan starts at $499 once and includes a revocable living trust, pour-over will, HIPAA authorization, living will, power of attorney, schedule of assets, and certification of trust. The latter is the more complete bundle for trust-based planning; the Will Plan is the less costly choice for people who do not need a trust.

Attorney Support costs $299 as a flat fee for one year of phone access to a licensed estate-planning attorney, subject to state exclusions. There is no free trial. These prices do not remove the need to sign and notarize documents for them to become legally binding.

Platforms

Trust & Will is available on Android, iOS, and the web. The apps support document review and asset tracking, while editing and plan updates are handled on the website.

Who it's for

Trust & Will is a good fit for individuals or households seeking a will or trust bundle with related health and power-of-attorney documents, especially if they value the option of paid attorney access. Its 50-state coverage broadens its use, but people needing individualized legal advice should not treat the forms or AI assistant as a substitute for a lawyer. The service is also less suitable for someone who expects to edit a plan in the mobile app.

Pros and cons

Pro: The Will and Trust plans bundle several related documents, so buyers can address more than a will alone.
Pro: A free Basic membership offers estate-plan creation without an ongoing membership.
Pro: Optional one-year phone access to a licensed attorney adds a human support path for eligible states.
Con: Documents require signing and notarization after download or receipt, so online creation does not finish the legal process.
Con: Attorney Support excludes seven states, limiting the value of that option for residents there.
Con: Mobile apps cannot edit documents or update plans; those tasks require the website.
Con: The service is not a law firm and its forms are not a substitute for legal advice.

Verdict

Choose Trust & Will if you want a bundled, state-specific will or trust plan, with the option of one year of attorney phone access. Its main strength is the range of documents and membership support around a single plan; look elsewhere if you need legal advice as part of the service, mobile plan editing, or attorney access in an excluded state.
