Overview

SureAsset brings several distinct jobs into one service: tracking hardware and software through their lifecycle, managing devices remotely, and accessing real Android and iOS/iPadOS devices for browser testing. That breadth can appeal to teams that would otherwise coordinate asset records, device controls, and mobile testing separately. It does not make those workflows interchangeable, however, and teams focused on only one may prefer a more specialized product.

Key features

Asset and license tracking

The free plan includes asset lifecycle management, hardware and software license tracking, API access, and automation. Barcode scanning and employee self-service are also supported. Together, these features give organizations a useful base for maintaining asset records and connecting asset processes to other systems, without an upfront plan charge. No device or seat cap is provided for the free plan.

Remote device controls

Administrators can remotely configure devices, schedule deployments and reboots, and manage supported devices when offline. App and browser lockdown, URL allowlisting, and session resets offer practical controls for shared or restricted-use devices. Third-party patching adds software maintenance to the management mix. The trade-off is platform breadth: the device-management platforms are Android, iOS/iPadOS, and Windows, not every platform named for the service overall.

Private device testing

SureAsset provides private access to real Android and iOS/iPadOS devices for browser testing. Support for JUnit, Ranorex, Cucumber, Selenium, TestNG, Maestro, Appium, and Playwright gives teams several ways to integrate testing into their chosen automation workflows. This is a meaningful addition for mobile QA teams, but the stated device-testing OS coverage is mobile rather than desktop.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes asset lifecycle management, hardware and software license tracking, API access, and automation. It is the clearest fit for organizations that need core asset and license tracking without a paid commitment. Barcode scanning and employee self-service are supported, but the Free plan description does not say whether they are included. It also gives no seat or asset quota, so organizations with defined capacity needs should confirm fit before relying on it.

Paid plans start at 2.49 /mo. That entry price may suit teams seeking capabilities beyond the free asset-management base, but no billing term, seat or device allowance, trial length, or renewal condition accompanies it. Confirm those terms and the included management features before budgeting around the starting figure.

Platforms

The service overall spans Android, iOS, macOS, Linux, the web, and Windows. Device management supports Android, iOS/iPadOS, and Windows, while private real-device testing covers Android and iOS/iPadOS. The distinction matters: a platform supported by the broader service is not necessarily a supported target for remote management or testing.

Who it's for

SureAsset is a good candidate for IT teams that need an asset and software-license register alongside mobile-device controls, especially when app testing on real phones or tablets is also part of their work. The free asset plan lowers the barrier to adopting those tracking workflows. Teams that need management across macOS or Linux devices, or that need firm paid-plan capacity and billing terms upfront, should compare other options.

Pros and cons

Pro: The free plan includes lifecycle tracking, hardware and software license tracking, API access, and automation, making it useful beyond a basic inventory list.
Pro: Remote lockdown, allowlisting, scheduled deployment, session reset, and offline support give administrators a broad set of operational controls.
Pro: Private access to real mobile devices plus support for eight named test automation frameworks can serve teams that manage devices and test apps.
Con: Device management covers Android, iOS/iPadOS, and Windows, narrower than the overall platform range.
Con: The Free plan description gives no seat or asset cap, and the paid starting price has no accompanying billing or capacity terms.

Verdict

Choose SureAsset if you want asset and license tracking with mobile-device controls and private access to real devices for testing, especially if the free plan covers your tracking needs. Look elsewhere if you need broader device-management platform coverage or cannot proceed without confirmed paid-plan quotas and billing terms.
