Overview

Suno can create a complete song from a text prompt in under a minute, then support further work through multitrack editing, MIDI sequencing, and stem separation. Audio exports include MP3 and WAV, and users can share music with an audience of any size. The breadth makes it more than a prompt-to-song novelty; however, free use is better suited to personal experimentation than publishing work commercially.

Key features

Prompt-based generation and vocal creation make Suno a fast way to develop a musical idea without starting from a finished recording. Audio uploads offer another starting point: Free and Pro allow up to eight minutes, while Premier raises that limit to 30 minutes. Those allowances give users room to build from source audio, though the longer upload window is reserved for the top tier.

Stem separation produces vocal and instrumental parts, which is useful when a generated song needs further arrangement. Premier offers three types of stem separation. Multitrack editing and MIDI sequencing extend the workflow, while Premier’s Suno Studio adds MIDI, effects, and automation. Pro and Premier users can also create custom models from their own recordings, a meaningful option for creators seeking a more personalized process.

Free users receive 50 credits per day and can create up to 10 songs daily without a credit card, but have no commercial rights or monthly song downloads. Pro provides 2,500 credits and 20 downloads per month; Premier provides 10,000 credits and 60 downloads. Subscription credits do not carry over between days or months. Purchased top-up credits do not expire, but require an active subscription.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per month and includes 50 credits per day, an eight-minute audio-upload limit, and no commercial rights or monthly song downloads. It is a sensible way to explore generation, but not a release-ready option for commercial projects.

Pro costs 8.00 USD per month, with taxes calculated at checkout. It includes 2,500 credits and 20 song downloads per month, up to 10 songs at once, eight-minute uploads, and commercial-use rights. This is the better fit for creators who need regular downloads and permission to use songs in videos, albums, or other projects without Premier’s larger allowances.

Premier costs 24.00 USD per month, with taxes calculated at checkout. It raises capacity to 10,000 credits and 60 downloads per month, keeps the 10-at-once generation limit, allows 30-minute uploads, and unlocks every feature, including Suno Studio. It suits users who need longer source uploads, more downloads, or the expanded production tools. Both paid plans offer a 20% discount with annual billing; credits still do not roll over.

Platforms

Suno supports web and mobile, with Android and iOS listed as platforms. MP3 and WAV export gives users two common audio formats for moving finished work into other workflows.

Who it's for

Suno is a strong fit for songwriters and creators who want rapid prompt-based drafts, generated vocals, and a path into editing or stem work. Pro is the practical starting point for commercial use and recurring downloads; Premier is for heavier use or production work that benefits from longer uploads and Suno Studio. Those who only want occasional personal experiments can stay on Free, while anyone needing commercial rights should avoid relying on it.

Pros and cons

Pro: Complete songs can be generated from text prompts in under a minute, making it suited to quick idea development.
Pro: Generation, uploads, multitrack editing, and stem separation cover several stages of a music workflow.
Pro: Paid songs can be used in videos, albums, and other projects, and both paid plans have annual billing discounts.
Con: Free use excludes commercial rights and monthly song downloads, so publishing work commercially requires a paid tier.
Con: Monthly subscription credits expire rather than carrying over, which can waste capacity for users with uneven workloads.
Con: The 30-minute upload allowance and expanded Studio features are limited to Premier.

Verdict

Choose Suno if you want fast prompt-based songs and a single service that can carry ideas into editing, stems, and production. Pro is the clearest choice for commercial projects and moderate monthly output; Premier earns its higher price when longer uploads, higher download capacity, or Suno Studio matter. Look elsewhere if you need commercial rights without a subscription or want unused subscription credits to roll over.
