Overview

Stippl combines a day-by-day itinerary with budgets, bookings, packing lists and trip journals. Travelers can map destinations and arrange stays, activities and transport, while companions view, suggest and edit a shared plan in real time. That makes it a good fit when trip planning is a group task; solo travelers who only need a simple itinerary may find its wider set of tools unnecessary.

Trip details are available offline in the mobile app, an important practical advantage when connectivity is unreliable. The product is offered on Android, iOS and web, with web as its primary platform.

Key features

Accommodation search connects to Booking.com, Airbnb and Hostelworld, and route planning helps organize destinations and travel between them. The shared itinerary is the stronger feature for groups: changes and suggestions stay in one live plan rather than being scattered among companions.

AI can create a day-by-day itinerary with activity and accommodation suggestions, and travelers can edit the result. The first AI itinerary is free, but unlimited AI trip and day-plan generation and route optimisation require Pro. That makes the free AI option useful for a first draft, not for travelers who expect to refine plans through repeated generations.

The budget planner supports over 100 currencies and automatically converts logged expenses to a home currency, which is useful for tracking spending across destinations. Stippl also supports reservation imports, reusable packing lists and journals. Its in-app eSIM purchase and activation covers local data plans in more than 190 countries, extending the app beyond planning and record-keeping.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes unlimited trips, destinations, activities, co-planners, expenses and journal entries. It is a substantial starting point for organizing trips and sharing plans, but excludes AI generation after the first itinerary, PDF export and calendar sync.

Stippl publishes two Pro entries at 4.99 EUR per month. The Pro plan is billed monthly and can be cancelled at any time; it includes 10 photos per destination in travel reels. The Stippl Pro plan is also billed monthly, can be cancelled at any time, and adds unlimited AI trip and day-plan generation, PDF export, email reservation import, calendar sync, CSV expense export, custom expense categories and reusable packing lists. For travelers who need those workflow tools, the second plan is the more complete paid option; the cheaper Free plan gives up repeated AI use and key exports and sync.

Platforms

Stippl is available on Android, iOS and web. Offline access to trip details is specifically available in the mobile app, while web is the primary platform.

Who it's for

Stippl is best suited to groups that want to coordinate a detailed itinerary and keep expenses and trip records together. It is also a sensible choice for multi-country travelers who value multi-currency budgeting or in-app eSIM access. Travelers who need repeated AI itinerary revisions, calendar sync or exportable plans should budget for Stippl Pro; those content with the free core can organize trips without a paid subscription.

Pros and cons

Pros: The Free plan allows unlimited trips, destinations, co-planners, expenses and journal entries, so core trip organization does not run into a stated trip or collaboration cap.
Pros: Real-time shared editing, offline mobile access and support for more than 100 budget currencies address practical group and travel needs.
Pros: Stippl Pro combines repeat AI generation with PDF and CSV exports, calendar sync and reusable packing lists.
Cons: The free tier excludes PDF export and calendar sync, and its AI allowance is limited to the first itinerary.
Cons: The two paid plan entries have different feature descriptions, so readers should match the listed inclusions to their needs before choosing.

Alternatives

For a free, self-hosted option, TREK is worth considering; it is available on Android, iOS, Linux, self-hosted and web, and is free for personal and internal company use under AGPL-3.0.

Pilot is a free alternative with a flexible itinerary builder, route and map tools, file and reservation import, and real-time collaboration across Android, iOS and web. TripBuddy offers a free plan across Android, iOS and web, with every trip, day and crew size included.

Navly is an iOS and macOS option with a free AI travel planning assistant, map and location context, and itinerary building; its 2.99 USD day pass lasts 24 hours and does not renew automatically. NxVoy Trips offers a free plan with 5 chats and 50 messages per session on Android, iOS and web.

Travelifly may suit iOS travelers who want two free full single-city trips with a checklist, transit, bilingual names and hotel picks; its Pro Monthly plan costs 3.99 USD per month and auto-renews monthly. Travolp has a free Travelers plan with AI day-by-day itineraries, daily briefings, offline access, chat-based replanning, group planning and iOS and Android apps. Travee is another free option, available on web, iOS and Android while in beta.

Verdict

Choose Stippl if you want one shared space for detailed trip planning, group coordination and expense tracking, with a free tier that covers unlimited core organization. Its main drawback is that repeated AI planning, calendar sync and useful exports require Stippl Pro at 4.99 EUR per month; travelers who need only a basic itinerary or prefer a self-hosted tool should look elsewhere.
