Overview

TagMatiks is an RFID platform that connects reader management with asset and business workflows. It is best suited to organizations that need to track equipment over time and bring RFID data into reporting or other systems. Its modular range covers free entry points through enterprise software, though the free tiers are tightly capped and the paid prices are dated.

TagMatiks AT follows assets from receiving through use to consumption or disposal, with support for scheduled maintenance and repair. The broader suite includes dashboards, reporting, analytics, and API access, so it can support more than basic scan collection. It is included in RFID Software.

Key features

Asset lifecycle tracking: AT tracks assets across their lifecycle and supports maintenance or repair scheduling. That makes it a stronger fit for teams responsible for equipment upkeep than a tool focused only on capturing inventory events.
Inventory controls: Configurable asset fields, audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation help teams compare records with physical assets. These tools are most relevant where asset accuracy is an ongoing process, not a one-off count.
Operational visibility: Dashboards, reports, analytics, read-event analytics, and movement history let teams review activity from several angles. Their value depends on whether those insights feed a real reporting or operational workflow.
Reader and device support: AT supports handheld RFID devices, fixed readers, portals, and all-in-one RFID devices, accommodating more than handheld scanning alone.
Integration choices: TagMatiks Core connects through APIs, templated database integrations, and flat files; Wedge can create a file or send data to an API. The maker cites examples including ServiceNow, SAP, Infor, NetSuite, IBM DynamoDB, Shopify, Retail Pro, and Sage.
Deployment and security: The platform supports single-tenant and multi-tenant hosting, while its government asset-tracking product is described as on-premise. The maker says it uses encryption and secure APIs and complies with industry standards, without naming specific standards.

Pricing

TagMatiks is freemium. Prices are in USD and effective June 1, 2020; the stated one-time prices and annual charges should be weighed with that date in mind.

TagMatiks Wedge Free: 0.00 USD per free, with up to 500 scans. It is a small-scale way to try Wedge's scan workflow, not a high-volume tier.
TagMatiks AT Lite Free: 0.00 USD per free, with up to 99 active assets. The cap suits a small asset pool; teams above it need a paid tier.
TagMatiks Wedge: 99.00 USD per once, as a one-time license per RFID handheld or device, with one device per license. This is a low-cost fit for a single device, but scaling to more devices means additional licenses.
TagMatiks AT Lite Bronze: 499.00 USD per once for 750 assets; Silver: 999.00 USD per once for 2,000 assets; Gold: 1999.00 USD per once for 5,000 assets. The successive caps give growing asset programs room to expand, but each is a one-time license rather than an uncapped plan.
Prestige Support: 1165.00 USD per year, starting at $1,165 / year for Enterprise Cloud Solutions. It includes standard support and email-based ticketing; standard support also includes knowledge articles, quick-start guides, tutorials, and videos.
TagMatiks Enterprise RFID Software: 1800.00 USD per year, billed annually per RFID device. It includes an enterprise application and TagMatiks Core, and supports readers, handhelds, sleds, and printers. Per-device annual billing makes the cost grow with the device count.

Where a plan has no published price, it is custom pricing. Free tiers have stated scan or asset caps, while the paid Wedge and AT Lite tiers use one-time licenses and Enterprise RFID Software charges annually per device.

Platforms

TagMatiks is listed for Android, iOS, Windows, web, API, and self-hosted use. Its mobile data collection applications are available for iOS, Android, and Windows. That range gives teams options across mobile collection and broader deployment, though the exact product fit depends on the workflow and plan.

Who it's for

The maker describes use in healthcare, manufacturing, oil and gas, retail, supply chain, and logistics, and says its modular suite can serve businesses of different sizes. It is most compelling for organizations that need asset lifecycle records, recurring counts, device support, or integration paths. A small team can start within the free caps; a larger operation should match its active assets and RFID device count to the paid tiers before choosing.

Pros and cons

Pro: Lifecycle tracking, maintenance support, audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation address ongoing asset control rather than scanning alone.
Pro: Multiple connection methods and cited business-system integrations give teams several routes for moving RFID data into workflows.
Pro: Free Wedge and AT Lite tiers provide bounded ways to begin without an upfront license purchase.
Con: The free options stop at 500 scans or 99 active assets, limiting their usefulness for larger deployments.
Con: Wedge is licensed per device and Enterprise RFID Software is billed annually per device, so broad device rollouts carry scaling costs.
Con: The published price schedule is effective June 1, 2020, making those figures a dated basis for budgeting.

Alternatives

AssetPulse is a paid alternative with a free trial and Android, iOS, web, API, and self-hosted platforms; consider it if a trial matters more than TagMatiks' free capped tiers.
RFTrack is paid and supports Android, iOS, web, API, self-hosted, and Windows. Its On-Premise plan uses a perpetual license installed on physical servers, virtual servers, or a private cloud; choose it if that deployment and licensing model fits better.
Senitron Athena is a paid option spanning Android, iOS, macOS, web, API, self-hosted, and Windows, with custom pricing.
Xemelgo Inventory Management is a paid option for Android, iOS, web, and API, with pricing available by contacting sales.
HID Approve is a paid authentication product deployed through a mobile app or SDK, for readers seeking consumer or workforce authentication rather than TagMatiks' asset workflows.
SimplyRFID WAVE has a 299.00 USD per month Starter Kit with a six-month minimum agreement, support, service, a CSL CS108 handheld, and Wave app; consider it if a bundled iOS RFID kit is a better match.
AMG Read Stream is an enterprise RFID inventory-tracking alternative with cloud or on-premises deployment.
Nedap iD Cloud is another alternative.

Verdict

TagMatiks is a sound fit for organizations that need RFID reader management alongside lifecycle asset controls, reporting, and integration options. Its capped free plans offer a modest starting point, and AT Lite provides clear asset-count tiers. Look elsewhere if your decision depends on current pricing certainty, uncapped entry-level use, or a per-device model that does not suit your rollout.
