Overview

Vendavo CPQ connects product configuration, pricing guidance, customer agreements, and deal approvals in a quoting workflow. It is aimed at global B2B manufacturers, distributors, high-tech companies, and industrial services firms with complex products or negotiated terms. Its strongest case is keeping commercial rules connected to quotes; organizations wanting a published price or a self-serve purchase path should look elsewhere.

Key features

Guided configuration. Product logic checks compatibility and dependencies, adjusts available choices, and produces quote-ready outputs. This can reduce invalid configurations in catalogs with interdependent options, but its usefulness depends on how well the rules reflect the seller’s products.

Pricing and agreements. AI pricing guidance and recommendations are intended to help sellers protect margins. Vendavo also centralizes customer-specific and contract pricing, discount rules, and negotiated terms for use in quotes. That combination is valuable where account terms must be applied consistently, while simpler sales operations may find the added commercial controls unnecessary.

Approvals and analytics. Approval workflows route deals based on pricing thresholds, discount levels, and commercial risk indicators, supporting review of exceptions before a quote proceeds. Vendavo Analytics offers margin analysis across quotes, agreements, customers, products, and sales segments. Machine learning models also identify potential cross-sell and whitespace opportunities from purchasing patterns, product relationships, and similar account behavior. These capabilities make the platform broader than quote generation alone, though they are most relevant to teams managing sales at scale.

Integrations and safeguards. Vendavo names Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, AWS, and Microsoft Dynamics, and supports APIs, batch processing, and file-based integrations. It states that customer data is encrypted at rest and in transit, with SSO, customizable role- and attribute-based access controls, and data segmentation. Vendavo also states that it undergoes annual ISO 27001, SOC 1 Type 2, and SOC 2 Type 2 audits and aligns with EU and UK GDPR and California CPRA requirements. A Support Portal and product documentation provide help resources.

Pricing

Vendavo CPQ: custom pricing; request a demo. No public subscription price or plan limits are stated. The demo-led, quote-based approach is consistent with a product aimed at complex B2B operations, but makes it difficult for smaller buyers to assess cost before engaging Vendavo.

Platforms

Vendavo describes the platform as SaaS, with cloud deployment and access through web browsers. Its CPQ Cloud datasheet names Chrome, Safari, and Edge support. APIs are also supported.

Who it's for

Vendavo CPQ is best suited to larger B2B teams that need configurable products, margin guidance, negotiated account terms, and approval controls in one quoting process. It is a less natural fit for businesses with straightforward catalogs and pricing, or buyers who need to compare fixed prices and plan limits before requesting a demo.

Pros and cons

Pros: Guided configuration checks compatibility and dependencies, helping sellers produce valid quote-ready selections.
Pros: Agreement terms and discount rules can be applied within the quote workflow, while approvals route deals using commercial thresholds and risk indicators.
Pros: Named enterprise integrations and API, batch, and file-based options offer several paths for connecting systems.
Cons: Custom pricing and a demo request create a higher-friction evaluation than a published-price product.
Cons: Its interconnected configuration, agreement, approval, and analytics capabilities may exceed the needs of teams with uncomplicated products or sales rules.

Alternatives

For pricing analysis rather than an integrated CPQ workflow, NIQ is a paid option spanning Android, iOS, web, Windows, and API platforms, though it has no free plan. Bubo.AI may suit buyers who want to start with a no-obligation analysis: its free Profit Check uses transaction data, typically 12 months of history. Sell Smart Price Optimization is worth considering for a smaller product catalog and web-based price optimization, with a free plan capped at 50 products and an Early Bird plan at 49.00 USD per month, billed monthly, for up to 1,000 products.

7Learnings is another paid API and web option, with pricing requiring a demo request. First Insight InsightSUITE Pricing Analysis is a paid web product whose pricing requires contacting First Insight. SPOSEA is a paid web-based alternative. For competitive price monitoring with SLA-controlled data and AI-powered product matching, consider Competera; its pricing is custom, with one plan billed per use. DemandTec may be a fit for enterprise SaaS buyers seeking an annual subscription quote with implementation and customer success included.

Verdict

Choose Vendavo CPQ if your B2B sales operation needs configuration rules, negotiated pricing, margin guidance, and approvals to work together at quote time. Its integrated commercial controls are the main reason to choose it; custom pricing and the demo-first process are the main reasons to look elsewhere if you need a transparent, self-serve buying decision.
