Overview

PRISM Live Studio combines broadcasting with video recording and photo capture, adding effects and media such as stickers, images and music. It runs on Android, iOS, macOS and Windows; there is no browser-based studio. Its encoder-based streaming supports scheduling and destinations including YouTube, Facebook, CHZZK, NAVER Shopping Live, BAND, NAVER TV, SOOP, Twitch and custom RTMP URLs.

The feature set is split usefully across devices: desktop focuses on scenes and media or game sources, while mobile adds camera-led creation tools. PRISM Lens extends the product into video calls and other streaming programs as a virtual camera with virtual backgrounds and face retouch effects.

Key features

Desktop production

Customizable scenes, media and game sources, free PRISM widgets, drawing mode and in-app live chat give desktop streamers several production elements in one app. The desktop product page lists up to 4K resolution. That ceiling is appealing for creators prioritizing image quality, but the more consequential desktop difference is channel count: free use is limited to one channel, while PRISM Plus raises the maximum to six.

Mobile creation

The mobile app offers screencasting, voice-responsive VTuber avatars, viewer chat, camera effects, animated text and overlays. It supports up to six simultaneous streams at 1080p and 60 fps. However, screencasting tools should not be mistaken for phone-screen capture: smartphone screen recording is not supported on Android or iOS. That rules out PRISM as a fit for creators whose central format is recording gameplay or app activity directly from a phone.

Camera and privacy

PRISM Lens can provide virtual backgrounds and face retouching when used as a virtual camera in Zoom and other conferencing or streaming programs. During streaming, facial and physical features and voice may be temporarily processed, but the company says they are not stored in its system. Its privacy policy also describes encryption in storage and transmission, access controls and logs, malware protection and physical security measures. PRISM uses YouTube API Services, and connecting other platform accounts remains subject to those platforms’ privacy policies.

Pricing

PRISM Live Studio is freemium. PRISM Basic is free and includes one streaming channel, dual output to two channels, and 30 minutes of 3D VTuber face tracking. Ads, watermarks and outros are displayed. The distinction between one streaming channel and dual output matters: free users can send output to two channels, but do not get the paid plan’s broader multistreaming capacity.

PRISM Plus costs 9.99 USD per month on a monthly subscription and supports up to six channels. It is the clear choice for desktop creators who need more than the free channel allowance; the free plan makes more sense for a single-channel setup or trying the production tools before paying.

Platforms

PRISM Live Studio is available for Android, iOS, macOS and Windows. Because the studio is installed rather than browser-based, users should choose a supported device rather than expect to produce streams from a web studio. Mobile supports up to 1080p at 60 fps and six simultaneous streams; the desktop product page lists a maximum resolution of 4K, with channel limits depending on plan.

Who it's for

PRISM is best suited to creators who want to combine live streaming with recording or photo creation, especially desktop users building scenes from media and game sources, or mobile creators using camera effects, overlays and VTuber avatars. It also fits streamers who want to schedule broadcasts or send content to supported social and streaming destinations. Choose another tool if smartphone screen recording is essential, or if a desktop creator needs six-channel multistreaming without a monthly subscription.

Pros and cons

Pros: Desktop scene tools, widgets, drawing and chat bring several production functions together instead of limiting the app to broadcasting.
Pros: PRISM Plus supports up to six desktop channels, while mobile supports up to six simultaneous streams at 1080p and 60 fps.
Pros: PRISM Lens can serve as a virtual camera with virtual backgrounds and face retouch effects in other conferencing or streaming programs.
Cons: Free desktop use is limited to one streaming channel, and six-channel desktop streaming requires PRISM Plus at 9.99 USD per month.
Cons: Ads, watermarks and outros appear on the free plan, and its 3D VTuber face tracking is limited to 30 minutes.
Cons: Android and iOS do not support smartphone screen recording, a significant omission for phone-first game or app tutorials.
Cons: There is no browser-based studio, so users need one of the supported desktop or mobile platforms.

Alternatives

Restream is a relevant alternative for creators who want a web-accessible option alongside desktop and mobile apps; its free plan includes two channels at once, Restream branding and six hours recorded per stream.

OneStream Live may suit users who want web or extension access and scheduled events in a free tier; that tier allows two multistreaming destinations, 720p, one team seat, 1 GB of storage and three scheduled events.

mimoLive is another option for Mac and iOS users, with a free plan that carries a watermark and a Studio plan offering the full feature set without one.

Agora Interactive Live Streaming is an alternative for teams considering an API-supported streaming service, with a free allowance of 10,000 participant minutes.

Amazon Interactive Video Service is another streaming option, with paid channel-input plans billed pay-as-you-go.

Riverside is worth considering when recording is the priority: its free plan includes two hours of multitrack recordings and video up to 720p, with a watermark.

Streamlabs Mobile is a mobile-only alternative for Android and iOS, with multistreaming and premium mobile features in its Ultra plan.

Streamster is another freemium streaming option for Android, iOS, web and Windows.

Verdict

PRISM Live Studio is a strong fit for creators who want streaming and production tools together across desktop and mobile, particularly when scenes, camera effects or multistreaming matter. Its main advantage is breadth: the desktop app supports scene-based production while mobile adds creator-focused overlays and effects. Look elsewhere if you need smartphone screen recording or six-channel desktop streaming without paying; the free plan is more useful for a modest setup than a full multichannel workflow.
