Overview

Reap centers on spoken video rather than general-purpose filmmaking. Its clipping feature looks at faces, vocal tone, pauses, and pacing to identify moments for social clips, making it a more natural fit for clear, speaker-led recordings than footage whose appeal depends on visual sequences. Maximum clip length is three minutes, and all aspect ratios are supported.

The editor also lets users change a video by editing its transcript. That makes text-based revisions a practical part of the same workflow as selecting clips, rather than a separate editing approach. Reap offers custom artwork and a brand kit, useful additions for creators who want recurring visual treatments.

Key features

Captions and translation

More than 50 animated caption presets and support for 100 languages, including romanized scripts, give creators flexibility in how spoken content is presented. Paid plans add AI dubbing in more than 80 languages, but monthly allowances are limited: Creator includes two hours and Studio five. These are meaningful localization tools for recurring output, though the allowance should factor into a higher-volume workflow.

Publishing and automation

The social publisher connects TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X. Supported destinations vary by plan, so teams should confirm that their preferred channels fit the tier they choose. Reap also provides REST API, CLI, and MCP access and says it works with n8n, Zapier, and Make, giving automation-minded users ways to connect it to other workflows.

Video imports are supported from YouTube, Twitch, Twitter/X, and Vimeo. Upload limits are 5 GB on Free and 10 GB on Creator and Studio. Reap runs in a mobile browser; native iOS and Android apps are launching in Q3 2026.

Pricing

Free costs 0.00 USD per free and is billed Free forever. It includes one hour per month for clipping and captions, but exports are watermarked at 720p and projects expire after seven days. That is enough to assess the workflow, not a dependable home for continuing client or channel production.

Creator costs 9.99 USD per month, billed $119.88 billed annually; monthly billing is available at a higher rate. It provides 10 clipping hours and 10 caption hours each month, 1080p watermark-free exports, two hours of dubbing and translation, and one user. This is the clearest fit for an individual creator who needs regular output and can commit to annual billing.

Studio costs 29.00 USD per month, billed $348 billed annually, with monthly billing available at a higher rate. It raises clipping and captioning to 20 hours each per month, dubbing and translation to five hours, exports to 4K, and allows up to three users. Faster processing and priority support make it the more appropriate paid tier for a small team, though its higher allowance is still finite.

Enterprise has custom pricing and includes unlimited team members, custom clipping and captioning hours, custom dubbing and translation volumes, SSO, and custom integrations. It also includes a dedicated account manager and priority support, which better suits organizations needing tailored volumes and access controls.

Platforms

Reap supports Android, iOS, web, and API. Mobile use is through a browser for now; native iOS and Android apps are launching in Q3 2026. Email OTP login and SSO appear among its security and support features, with SSO included in Enterprise.

Who it's for

Reap is a strong match for podcasters, interviewers, educators, and marketing teams repurposing long spoken recordings into clips for multiple social channels. Its transcript editing, captions, and publishing integrations keep those jobs close together. It is a weaker choice for editors seeking a general video-production tool or for users who need an ongoing free tier without watermarks or expiring projects.

Pros and cons

Pros: Clipping, transcript-based editing, captions, dubbing, and social publishing address several stages of spoken-video repurposing in one product.
Pros: Support for 100 caption languages and paid dubbing in more than 80 languages offers useful localization options.
Pros: Creator and Studio remove export watermarks, with Studio adding 4K exports and up to three users.
Cons: Free is limited to one hour of clipping and captions monthly, with watermarked 720p exports and seven-day project expiry.
Cons: Creator’s 9.99 USD per month price is billed annually, and monthly billing costs more.
Cons: Paid dubbing allowances are capped at two hours on Creator and five on Studio, which may constrain frequent localization.

Verdict

Choose Reap if you regularly turn podcasts, interviews, webinars, or other spoken video into social clips and want captioning, transcript edits, and publishing integrations in one workflow. The annual Creator plan is the sensible starting point for an individual with recurring needs; teams that need more seats, 4K exports, or faster processing should consider Studio. Look elsewhere if watermarks and short project retention make Free unusable, or if your work depends on broader video editing rather than spoken-content repurposing.
