Overview

Pixelcut is an AI photo and video editor for product imagery, with background tools alongside image cleanup and promotional-content features. It best suits sellers, creators, and brands preparing catalog photos, ads, or social posts. Its strongest case is pairing a free, no-sign-up background remover with high-volume batch processing and API access.

Key features

Background editing and image cleanup

Pixelcut removes and replaces backgrounds, upscales images by up to 16×, expands image canvases, retouches with generative fill, and generates shadows. Together, those tools address common product-image adjustments without requiring a separate tool for each task. The web remover accepts JPG, PNG, and HEIC files up to 50 MB and 6000 × 6000 pixels, a useful range for many product shots but a constraint for larger source images. Free HD downloads come without a watermark or sign-up, making it practical for occasional cutouts; the free plan still limits background removal and upscaling.

Batch processing and API

Pixelcut says it can batch edit hundreds of files, and its background-removal page supports batches of up to 10,000 images exported as a ZIP. That scale is a meaningful advantage for large catalogs, though monthly batch-export quotas on paid plans may constrain recurring work. The API charges 5 credits per image, shown as $0.05 per image, and accepts PNG or JPEG input. Outputs include transparent PNG, an alpha mask, or a ZIP containing foreground and alpha mask. API access also fits creative software and image-processing workflows; Claude and ComfyUI are named integration options.

Pixelcut says API images are deleted immediately after processing, are not retained or used for model training, and requests are encrypted in transit. Uploaded and saved project images are encrypted and stored securely, and remain accessible only to the user unless sharing is explicitly permitted. Email support usually replies within one business day, with a help center for web, iOS, and Android.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes limited background removal, limited upscaling, and watermark-free exports. It is a sensible starting point for light use, but the caps make it a poor fit for sustained production.

Pro has no published price and includes 600 AI credits monthly, 3 team members, and 1,000 batch exports monthly. It suits a small team that needs regular editing and batch work, though the export ceiling matters for large recurring catalogs. Business also has custom pricing; its 3,600 monthly AI credits, 10 team members, and 2,000 monthly batch exports support a larger team and higher workload, but the stated batch quota is only twice Pro's.

Paid plans can be canceled at any time. Pixelcut's paid pricing starts at 8 /mo, but Pro and Business pricing is custom, so compare the plan limits with your expected use before choosing.

Platforms

Pixelcut is available on Android, iOS, and the web, with API access for integrations. This combination serves both mobile editing and automated workflows. Commercial use is supported.

Who it's for

Pixelcut is a strong fit for sellers, creators, and brands that need product photos cleaned up consistently, especially when background removal must scale across a catalog. Its free web remover works for occasional jobs; teams processing images repeatedly are more likely to benefit from paid credits, seats, and batch exports. It is less compelling for someone who needs only a few edits and expects unrestricted free processing.

Pros and cons

Pro: Free HD background removal without a watermark or sign-up lowers the barrier for one-off cutouts.
Pro: Batches of up to 10,000 images and ZIP export can reduce repetitive catalog work.
Pro: API outputs include transparent PNG, alpha masks, and foreground-plus-mask ZIPs, offering options for integrated image workflows.
Con: The free plan limits background removal and upscaling, so regular use may require a paid tier.
Con: Pro and Business have custom pricing, making the cost harder to weigh against their monthly credit and export quotas.
Con: The web remover's 50 MB and 6000 × 6000 pixel upload limits rule out some larger source files.

Alternatives

Pixelcut is geared toward product imagery rather than cartoon creation. For that specific goal, Cartoonize has a free Basic plan with essential effects and no registration, plus a 6.99 USD per year Pro Annual Plan. GenToon offers a free tier with 150 credits monthly and 20 characters, or a 10.00 USD per month Lite plan with 800 credits and the same character count, for readers focused on character-oriented cartoon generation. myComics.ai starts with 30 free credits and three art styles; its 9.99 USD one-time printed-comic option is aimed at readers wanting a physical comic rather than product-photo editing. Pict.AI provides two free web uses per tool per IP address, with further use directed to its mobile app. ImageToCartoon offers a public converter without an account, subscription, credits, or payment. AniComic.ai has a 39.99 USD per year Pro Annual plan for comic creation. AI Photo Editor Cartoonizer is a paid option, with a 15.00 USD per month Starter plan for 1,000 credits and approximately 250 Standard edits. Voilà AI Artist is another freemium option on iOS and Android.

Verdict

Choose Pixelcut if you prepare product imagery at volume and want background removal, cleanup tools, and API processing in one service. Free HD cutouts make it useful even for occasional edits, but capped free use and custom-priced paid tiers are reasons to look elsewhere if you need predictable costs or only a simpler, narrowly focused tool.
