Overview

PeopleHawk helps students explore their strengths, consider education and career options, develop skills and prepare for work or further study. Its audience also includes schools, colleges, universities and employers, as well as career changers. Pathway planning, education matching and a counselor dashboard support its institutional offer.

The platform spans ongoing career preparation, a standalone assessment report and specialist admissions preparation. That breadth can serve different needs, but these are distinct purchases rather than one all-inclusive package.

Key features

Career exploration and preparation

The Future Pathways Report combines values, interests, personality and skills into a personalised 50-page report with recommendations for subjects, careers and pathways. Its 100-question assessment takes around 20 minutes. It is a focused starting point for someone weighing options, but it is a one-off report rather than the continuing set of tools in Premium.

Premium brings together career and course exploration, bite-sized skills learning, CV and digital-profile creation, an AI Elevator Pitch, interview practice with AI feedback, live opportunities and an e-portfolio. This mix is more relevant to learners actively preparing for applications and work than to someone who only wants a career assessment. Specialist products cost extra.

School careers provision

Schools and colleges can use Schemes of Work, Career Readiness Journeys, student insights and reporting, UCAS support, applications and work-experience tools. UK schools can also use the Skills Builder integration to benchmark and develop Essential Skills through bite-sized learning. This makes PeopleHawk a broader provision option than an individual assessment, though its school Future Pathways offer is limited to cohorts of at least 100 students.

Medical admissions preparation

HPAT applicants can begin with a free 30-minute readiness test that returns an estimated score, percentile and personalised feedback, then choose paid Bootcamp or Mastery preparation. Bootcamp offers targeted practice with explanations and feedback; Mastery includes full timed mock exams. MSAT preparation includes practice zones and mock exams with feedback and explanations. The free HPAT test is a useful first step, but it is not a substitute for the paid practice options.

Security and privacy

PeopleHawk says it stores and processes user data and backups in UK and Ireland data centres, using encryption at rest and in transit with 256-bit SSL/TLS 1.3. It is accredited with Cyber Essentials and IASME Governance and is working toward ISO 27001. Its privacy policy says personal data is stored within the UK and EEA, while some technical providers outside those regions may receive data subject to safeguards. Privacy questions can be sent to support@peoplehawk.com.

Pricing

PeopleHawk is freemium, but the free option is specific: the HPAT readiness test costs 0.00 USD per free and lasts 30 minutes. Premium is 4.99 GBP per month in the UK or 4.99 EUR per month in Ireland, covering core career, skills and work-readiness tools. It does not include specialist products, so HPAT preparation and the Future Pathways Report require separate purchases.

The Future Pathways Report costs 99.99 GBP per once in the UK or 99.99 EUR per once in Ireland. Schools and colleges can buy Future Pathways for cohorts of 100 students or more for 29.99 GBP per once in the UK or 29.99 EUR per once in Ireland; the package includes five supporting lessons.

HPAT Bootcamp costs 99.99 GBP per once in the UK or 99.99 EUR per once in Ireland. HPAT Mastery costs 149.99 EUR per once in Ireland. These are one-off options, not part of the monthly Premium subscription. Choose the free test to gauge readiness, Bootcamp for targeted practice, or Mastery if full timed mock exams are the priority.

Platforms

PeopleHawk is available on Android, iOS and the web, giving individuals and education providers mobile and browser access.

Who it's for

Students weighing courses or careers can use the report for a structured assessment or Premium for ongoing exploration and preparation. Schools and colleges that need careers journeys, student reporting and UCAS support are a better fit for the institutional tools, particularly if they can use the 100-student Future Pathways cohort. Medical applicants should consider the separate HPAT or MSAT preparation rather than assume it comes with Premium. PeopleHawk also presents offerings for universities, employers and career changers, but its strongest fit is education-linked career planning.

Pros and cons

Pros: A broad set of career-readiness tools combines exploration, skills learning, CV and profile creation, interview practice and an e-portfolio, useful for students preparing for next steps.
Pros: Schools get structured careers provision, reporting and UCAS support, with a Skills Builder integration for UK schools.
Pros: The free HPAT readiness test gives applicants an estimated score, percentile and personalised feedback before they buy further preparation.
Cons: Premium excludes specialist products, so learners may need to budget separately for reports or medical admissions preparation.
Cons: The school Future Pathways package requires a cohort of at least 100, limiting its fit for smaller groups.
Cons: The listed UK HPAT options include Bootcamp but not Mastery, while Mastery is priced for Ireland.

Alternatives

Career Guidance Software is a useful place to compare more career-guidance options.

Choose PowerSchool Behavior Support if you want a paid product available on Android, iOS and the web; pricing requires contacting PowerSchool for a demo.

Pathful is another freemium option with a free plan, available on iOS, macOS, web and Windows; it offers a guided walkthrough.

BridgeU may suit schools prioritising a free web-based option: it has no annual licence fees, per-student charges or subscription renewals, and access is arranged through BridgeU.

CareerExplorer offers a free web assessment with an option to upgrade; its Membership plan is billed annually and includes tools, resources, guidance and support.

MAPP Career Assessment has a free web account and an Executive Package for 149.95 USD per once, including a 22+ page report, top ten job areas and 72 worker trait codes.

Pathly keeps student accounts free, with counselor plans not gating student access; its web-based Solo plan costs 199.00 USD per month.

Start Profile offers free access for young people through a web platform, with content and opportunities funded by partners.

PeopleGrove Engagement Hub is another paid web option with a free plan.

Verdict

PeopleHawk is a strong fit for students who want career exploration and preparation in one place, and for schools building structured careers provision. Its key advantage is the range from assessment and skills tools to institutional support; its main drawback is that specialist products sit outside Premium and the school cohort offer starts at 100 students. Choose it for that breadth, but look elsewhere if you need a single subscription that covers every pathway or a smaller-cohort school package.
