Overview

Pika combines generation and editing workflows across video, images, audio, speech, sound effects, music, and soundtracks. Its range can reduce the need to move between separate tools when a project spans formats. Video Studio clips can run up to 30 seconds, so Pika is best suited to short creative assets rather than longer-form video.

Key features

Text-to-video, image-to-video, and AI avatars cover distinct ways to build video content, with output resolution up to 4K. The toolkit also includes color grading, video extension, image editing, character and image studios, product shots, and soundtrack creation. That breadth is useful for creators shaping a piece beyond the initial generation, though the paid credit allowances put a ceiling on how much iterative work each plan supports.

Pika provides API access and supports commercial use on eligible plans. Its model lineup includes Seedance 2.5, Pika 2.5, GPT Image 2.5, Grok Imagine 1.5, and MiniMax H3. Top-up credits work only with Pika Create on pika.art, not the API, MCP, iOS app, or old.pika.art; teams mixing those access points should not assume purchased credits can follow them everywhere.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes all models, two parallel video generations, and two parallel image and audio generations. It has no monthly credits and relies on credit packs, while excluding commercial licensing, priority queue, and early access to new models. That makes it useful for limited exploration, not a dependable free production allowance.

Starter costs 10.00 USD per month, or 8.00 USD per month billed annually, and provides 900 credits per month, two parallel video generations, and eight parallel image and audio generations. Creator costs 35.00 USD per month, or 28.00 USD per month billed annually, for 3,150 monthly credits, eight parallel video generations, and 32 parallel image and audio generations. Starter suits lighter recurring use; Creator is the more capable choice for users who need substantially more monthly capacity and parallel work. Yearly billing saves 20% compared with monthly pricing.

Fancy has custom pricing, with 8,550 credits per month and up and unlimited parallel generations; its annual option is 76.00 USD per month billed annually for 8,550 credits per month or more and unlimited parallel generations. It is aimed at heavier generation workloads where parallel capacity matters. Enterprise has custom pricing and custom monthly credits, all models, unlimited parallel generations, commercial licensing, and dedicated support, making it the relevant tier for studios and teams needing tailored scale and support.

Monthly plan credits do not roll over, and purchased top-up credits expire after 365 days. Plans can be canceled at any time but remain active through the billing period, and payments are non-refundable. Those terms reward choosing a credit allowance that matches regular use rather than buying ahead for an uncertain workload.

Platforms

Pika is available on the web and iOS, with API access for integrations. It is a cloud and mobile service, with email, community, and documentation support channels. Top-up credits are restricted to Pika Create on the web, so they do not cover API or iOS use.

Who it's for

Pika is best for ad creatives, editors, marketers, and filmmakers producing short assets across more than one medium. The 4K ceiling, editing tools, and parallel generation options support a broad creative workflow. It is a poorer fit for creators whose work routinely exceeds 30 seconds, or for anyone who needs a free monthly credit pool or commercial rights on the free tier.

Pros and cons

Pros: Video, image, audio, speech, and editing tools sit in one suite, useful for creators moving across formats.
Pros: Text-to-video, image-to-video, avatars, and output up to 4K cover varied short-video needs.
Pros: API access and commercial use on eligible plans make it workable beyond individual web projects.
Cons: Clips max out at 30 seconds, limiting its fit for longer videos.
Cons: Free access has no monthly credits, excludes commercial licensing, and is confined to credit packs.
Cons: Monthly credits expire at the billing boundary without rollover, and top-ups expire after 365 days and cannot be used across every Pika access point.

Verdict

Choose Pika if you create short-form work across video, image, and audio and want generation alongside editing, with API access available when needed. Its main advantage is that creative breadth; its main trade-offs are the 30-second clip limit, tightly constrained free access, and credits that do not roll over. Look elsewhere if longer video or uncapped free use is central to your workflow.
