Overview

Notta is a meeting-capture and transcription service for people who need searchable records of conversations and recordings. It suits professionals who want transcripts, summaries and action items across meetings and uploaded files, with mobile, desktop and browser options. Its main trade-off is the tight Free-plan cap on each conversation, even before the monthly minutes run out.

Notta supports virtual and offline meeting capture, as well as uploaded-file transcription. Its bot-based and bot-free modes, screen recording and mobile memo option give users several ways to capture material; Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex are supported for meetings. Calendar, Notion, Zapier, CRM, Slack and cloud-storage integrations can connect the service to common work flows.

Key features

Transcripts with context: Notta supports 58 languages, speaker identification and timestamps. Those labels make long conversations easier to follow and revisit than an unmarked transcript.
Summaries and action items: AI summaries and action-item tracking help turn captured conversations into follow-up material. The monthly summary quotas matter: Free allows 10, Pro 100 and Business 200.
Search and export: A searchable archive helps locate past conversations. Exports include TXT, DOCX, SRT, PDF and XLSX, giving users several formats for sharing or further work.
Team workspaces: Business and Enterprise members can view and collaborate on team content. Business adds security controls and usage reports; Enterprise adds SAML SSO, audit logs and data access control.
Security: Notta is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified, GDPR compliant, and its security and compliance section lists HIPAA. Customer data is hosted on Amazon Web Services and regularly backed up.

Pricing

Notta is freemium, with Pro starting at $8.17/month when billed annually. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and requires no credit card. Its one seat receives 120 transcription minutes per month, but each conversation is capped at three minutes; it also permits 50 file uploads and 10 AI summaries monthly. That combination is useful for short samples, but not for routine full-length meetings.

Pro costs 8.17 USD per month, billed annually, for a total of $97.99. Its one seat gets 1,800 transcription minutes per month, recordings up to five hours, 100 uploads and 100 AI summaries monthly. It is a practical step up for an individual with regular transcription needs, though the single-seat allowance is not a team plan.

Business costs 16.67 USD per month, billed annually, for a total of $199.99. Its five-hour recording limit, 200 uploads and 200 AI summaries suit teams that need collaboration and administration. The plan details do not give a transcription-minute quota; the choice is primarily differentiated by shared workspace and administrative features. Business has a 7-day trial.

Enterprise uses custom pricing and starts from 51 seats. It includes customized transcription, advanced security, control and support, with five-hour recordings and unlimited uploads and AI summaries. Priority support is included. Canceled paid subscriptions retain paid-feature access until the subscription period ends; transcription data is saved after cancellation, but Free users can view only its first three minutes.

Platforms

Notta runs on the web, iOS and Android, through a Chrome extension, and as Mac and Windows desktop apps. That range makes it suitable for teams and individuals moving between meeting software, phones and computers.

Who it's for

Notta is best for professionals who need meeting capture plus searchable transcripts, summaries or follow-up actions, and for teams that want shared content and controls. Pro is the clearest fit for an individual whose recordings exceed Free's three-minute conversation limit. Business fits a five-seat team needing collaboration and usage administration; larger organizations with at least 51 seats may find Enterprise's security controls more relevant.

It is a weaker fit for anyone expecting the Free plan to handle full meetings: 120 minutes per month does not offset the three-minute per-conversation ceiling. Teams also need to compare their expected usage with plan quotas before choosing.

Pros and cons

Pro: Capture options cover meetings, screens, mobile memos and uploaded files, so users are not limited to one recording route.
Pro: Speaker labels, timestamps, searchable archives and several export formats support review and reuse of transcripts.
Pro: Business and Enterprise add team collaboration, with meaningful administrative and security controls at higher tiers.
Con: Free's three-minute conversation cap makes it unsuitable for capturing ordinary full-length meetings.
Con: Pro is limited to one seat, while Business begins with five-hour recordings and specified upload and summary quotas; teams should check these caps against their workflow.
Con: Enterprise pricing is custom and starts at 51 seats, putting its advanced controls outside the stated smaller-team plans.

Verdict

Choose Notta if you want meeting capture, transcription and AI follow-up tools in one service, particularly across several devices or within a collaborative team. Its range of capture methods and transcript context are compelling strengths. Look elsewhere if you need generous free meeting transcription: the three-minute conversation limit is the decisive constraint, and ongoing use calls for a paid plan matched to your seat and quota needs.
