Overview

SchedulingKit is a booking and scheduling platform for solo professionals and organizations coordinating appointments across a team. It is strongest for users who want calendars, payments, and team workflows together; the free plan’s 50-booking monthly cap and the lack of HIPAA compliance rule it out for some needs.

Its booking pages support paid or unpaid appointments, deposits, invoices, and automated follow-ups. Mobile apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android sync bookings, contacts, and event types with the web app. SchedulingKit is a ZTABS product; the company was founded in 2022 and is based in Houston, Texas.

Key features

Booking and calendars: Two-way synchronization works with Google, Outlook, iCloud, Apple, and Exchange. Group bookings and automated reminders round out the appointment basics, while the broad calendar support can help avoid a separate manual update after a booking.
Team coordination: Round-robin assignment, collective availability, and multi-staff scheduling are useful when appointments need to be distributed or coordinated across staff. Paid plans also provide unlimited workspaces or businesses under one login, a practical fit for operators managing multiple brands or locations.
Payments and connected tools: Stripe and PayPal support payment collection; the homepage also names Apple Pay and Google Pay. Integrations include Salesforce and HubSpot, plus 1,000+ apps through Zapier. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Webex links can be generated automatically for online appointments.
Automation and development: The REST API, real-time webhooks, and embeddable JavaScript booking widget give teams options for connecting scheduling to custom systems. AI offerings include a receptionist, voice agent, chatbot, AI agents, AI CRM, and AI scheduling; these broaden the platform’s scope, though the core booking features may be enough for a user who does not need AI tools.
Security and access: SchedulingKit says it encrypts data at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3, and provides role-based access and audit logging. Its public booking pages meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards, with keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, and high-contrast modes. It supports GDPR tools and a Data Processing Agreement, but is not HIPAA-compliant and does not provide a Business Associate Agreement, so it is not suitable for workflows requiring those assurances.

Pricing

SchedulingKit is freemium, with a 14-day trial of paid features. After the trial, accounts move to Free unless the user subscribes. Paid plans bill per active team member across all workspaces; the annual prices below are per seat, and monthly billing costs more. Users can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade anytime.

Free — 0.00 USD per free, Free forever: One team member, one event type, 50 bookings per month, one calendar connection, and one workspace. It is a useful way for a solo operator to try the booking flow, but the event and booking caps make it a poor long-term fit for a busy schedule.
Standard — 10.00 USD per month billed annually ($12/seat/month monthly): For solo professionals, with unlimited event types and bookings, six calendar connections, 100 SMS credits per month, and unlimited workspaces or businesses. This removes the free plan’s main capacity limits, but the six-calendar ceiling and modest SMS allowance may constrain heavier use.
Pro — 16.00 USD per month billed annually ($20/seat/month monthly): Aimed at growing businesses, with unlimited calendar connections and 250 SMS credits per month. It is the step up for organizations needing more calendar connections or reminders than Standard allows.
Business — 30.00 USD per month billed annually ($36/seat/month monthly): Designed for teams at scale and includes 500 SMS credits per month, along with priority support. The higher price is most defensible for teams that need that additional messaging capacity and support.
Enterprise — custom pricing: Includes unlimited SMS credits, dedicated support, custom integrations, SLA guarantees, and volume discounts. Those commitments make it the plan to consider for large organizations with specific integration or service requirements.

Platforms

SchedulingKit is available on Android, iOS, the web, and through an API. The mobile apps keep bookings, contacts, and event types in sync with the web app; the API and webhooks are the route for custom integrations.

Who it's for

Solo professionals can start with Free and move to Standard when the 50-booking or one-event-type limit becomes restrictive. Growing businesses benefit from the higher calendar and SMS quotas, while teams coordinating staff or managing multiple businesses can make use of round-robin scheduling and multiple workspaces. SchedulingKit says it serves more than 5,000 teams across 40+ countries and supports businesses in 50+ industries, including therapists, personal trainers, salons, and law firms.

It is a poor choice for healthcare workflows that require HIPAA compliance or a Business Associate Agreement. Organizations should also account for per-active-member billing across every workspace when estimating the cost of adding staff.

Pros and cons

Pro: Booking, calendar sync, payments, team assignment, and reminders share one platform, reducing the need to combine separate scheduling tools.
Pro: Unlimited event types and bookings begin at Standard, and unlimited workspaces are included there as well.
Pro: API, webhooks, and a booking widget support integration beyond the platform’s native connections.
Con: Free is capped at one member, one event type, 50 monthly bookings, and one calendar connection, so it may quickly become only a trial tier for active users.
Con: Per-active-member billing applies across workspaces, which can make a multi-team setup more expensive as staffing grows.
Con: No HIPAA compliance or Business Associate Agreement excludes regulated healthcare workflows that require either.

Alternatives

For tutoring businesses, Tutorbase offers a free plan with all features and no feature restrictions, charging a 1% fee when invoicing through the system; choose it if tutoring-specific operations matter more than SchedulingKit’s broader scheduling toolkit. Classcard starts at $99.00 USD per month with unlimited staff, students, and classes plus 20GB of storage, making it a more substantial paid option for a school managing classes at scale. LearnSuite charges $0.35 USD per completed lesson-hour with no platform fee and supports under 400 lesson-hours per month on its pay-as-you-go plan, which may suit tutoring operations that prefer usage-based pricing. TutorBird costs $16.95 USD per month plus $4.95 per additional tutor or staff member, with all features, unlimited students, and unlimited file storage; it is an alternative for tutoring organizations comparing a defined monthly base price with per-staff additions. Tutoressa is another freemium option for readers evaluating tutoring software.

For broader category comparisons, browse tutoring scheduling software, interview scheduling software, veterinary appointment scheduling software, or appointment scheduling software. Teach 'n Go, Penji, and Accudemia are also options to compare.

Verdict

SchedulingKit is a strong fit for solo professionals and growing teams that want booking, calendars, payments, and staff coordination in one service, with a low-cost annual entry point beyond its constrained free plan. Choose it for that breadth and its integration options, but look elsewhere if your workflow needs HIPAA compliance or if per-seat costs and the SMS quotas do not match your team’s scale.
