Overview

Teams can create, assign and verify store work, then track execution and stock levels through real-time dashboards. Movista reports use across more than 9 million retail locations, by 600,000 users worldwide, with 26 million projects completed. Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas, the company serves retailers, consumer-goods companies, service providers and distributors.

Key features

Task execution and inventory

Task management, validation, scheduling, time tracking, role management and work escalation put the basic operating cycle in one platform. GPS verification, audit checklists, proof of completion and approval workflows give managers ways to document field execution. Offline capabilities matter for teams working where connectivity is unreliable, while mobile reassignments let work be redirected from the field.

Mobile audits, stock-level updates and in-app item ordering connect store visits to inventory work. Optional modules add item management, shelf ordering and returns; ShelfCheck AI uses image recognition to help identify shelf conditions and product availability. These tools make Movista relevant beyond task tracking, although organizations needing only simple checklists may not need its wider workforce scope.

Communications and reporting

Read rates, high-priority notifications and required-reading acknowledgments help managers distinguish messages that need attention from routine team chatter. Amp, the customer mobile app for iOS and Android, includes tasking, escalation, reassignments and individual, group and team communications. Real-time dashboards cover work completion, performance and stock levels, giving supervisors a view across distributed operations.

Planning and integrations

Advanced algorithms optimize territories, routes and schedules against demand, resources, time, availability and skills. Payroll, resource planning, expense reports, payment processing, human resources, CRM and business intelligence are named integration areas. Supported API integrations are RESTful and documented, a useful fit for organizations connecting Movista with existing systems. The company describes its AMP Core architecture as secure and designed to integrate with customer systems and AI-based optimizations.

Pricing

Movista is paid software with custom pricing; prospective customers are directed to request or schedule a demo. The core package includes real-time task management, validation, escalation, scheduling, a daily mobile dashboard, reporting, messaging, role management, GPS verification, time tracking, offline capabilities, support, integrations, API access and onboarding. Optional modules include item management, shelf ordering and returns, payroll, report building, territory and route optimization, and cross-company collaboration. Buyers should confirm which modules their deployment needs and how they affect the quote.

Platforms

Movista supports Android, iOS, web and API access. Amp is the mobile app for Movista customers, and offline capability supports field work beyond reliable connectivity.

Who it's for

Movista fits retailers, consumer-goods companies, service providers and distributors coordinating work across stores and field teams. Its combination of task execution, workforce planning, inventory activity and reporting is most useful when multiple functions need a shared operating workflow. Teams looking only for a narrow audit or merchandising tool may prefer a more focused product.

Privacy deserves attention in workforce deployments: the app may process GPS location, schedules, time and payroll details, and uploaded media. The employer determines what personal data is collected and how it is processed. Personal data is retained for the customer contract term and may remain in backup systems for up to 60 days in a non-editable state.

Pros and cons

Pro: Tasking, verification, scheduling, timekeeping and reporting share one workflow, reducing the need to coordinate these activities across separate processes.
Pro: Offline work, GPS verification, proof of completion and approvals address practical needs of distributed field teams.
Pro: Route and schedule optimization, inventory modules and broad integration categories give larger operations room to connect planning with execution.
Con: Custom pricing and optional modules mean buyers need a demo and quote to determine the cost and package fit.
Con: Location, schedule and payroll data can be involved, so organizations must account for their own data-handling decisions and workforce expectations.

Alternatives

Repsly is another paid web and mobile option, with plans covering representative databases, account management, scheduling, forms, reporting and API access; consider it when those capabilities better match the required workflow. BeatRoute is a paid alternative with territory and channel partner management, GPS-based coverage, order collection, stock reporting and returns. FieldAssist is a paid choice for field sales and distribution workflows, including offline-first mobile operations and order, invoicing, collection and returns processes. FieldPie offers paid Basic, Grow and Pro plans with minimums of three, five and eight users respectively, so it may suit buyers evaluating a defined minimum team size. MC1 Retail Execution is another paid Android, iOS and web option. 1Channel Retail Merchandising Software, Neurolabs ZIA and Pensa Systems are also paid alternatives.

Verdict

Choose Movista if your organization needs one platform to coordinate and measure retail work across field teams, stores and inventory operations. Its strongest case is the combination of offline-capable execution, workforce tools, reporting and optimization; look elsewhere if your needs are narrow or you want a price before engaging in a demo and custom quote.
