Overview

Mockplus brings together wireframing, interactive prototyping, interface refinement, and design handoff in a family of tools. It is best suited to teams that want to move ideas into review and developer-ready specs, though its separate RP, DT, and Cloud plans make the right fit less straightforward than a single bundled subscription.

RP handles early concepts and interactive prototypes, DT focuses on interface detail, and Cloud supports collaboration and handoff. Teams should weigh those distinct roles against seat minimums and project caps before choosing a plan.

Key features

Prototyping and design refinement

Mockplus RP supports wireframes and interactive prototypes using drag-and-drop interactions, gestures, and animations. That breadth suits product managers and other non-designers as well as designers exploring early ideas. Mockplus DT is aimed at designers refining interface details, with design systems among Mockplus's capabilities.

Mockplus Classic can export prototypes as interactive HTML for online or offline use, with previews on iPhone, iPad, or Android devices. That is useful when a prototype needs to be viewed without relying on a live connection, but Classic's export capability is distinct from RP's broader prototyping offer.

Review and developer handoff

Mockplus Cloud brings design specs, asset downloads, CSS snippets, comments, and review workflows into the handoff process. Plugins or imports cover Sketch, Photoshop, Adobe XD, Figma, and Axure, which gives teams using those tools a route to bring design work into Cloud. These features make Cloud the most relevant part of the product for teams coordinating review with developers.

Security and data handling

Mockplus says it encrypts data in transit and uses encryption at rest for private-cloud customers, alongside pseudonymization and least-privilege controls. Its service is hosted and operated in China, and personal data may be transferred to and processed in China and possibly other countries. Mockplus advises users not to place live end-customer personal data or sensitive personal data in designs, prototypes, or uploaded documents; organizations with stricter data-handling requirements should account for that before adopting it.

Pricing

Mockplus has several product-specific free and paid tiers, so the headline starting price does not describe every route into the platform. The general Basic plan is free forever for 10 users, 10 active projects, unlimited designs, three project folders, and one admin. It is a reasonable starting point for a small team, but its active-project and folder caps can constrain growing work.

The general Pro plan costs 5.95 USD per month, billed annually, and starts with a three-user minimum. It adds unlimited active projects, designs, project folders, and admins. The minimum makes it a poor fit for a solo buyer, even though its unlimited project allowance suits teams that have outgrown Basic. Enterprise has custom pricing for teams of all sizes and adds custom features, internal-server deployment, SSO, and priority support.

Mockplus Cloud Basic: Free forever, with up to 10 users, unlimited guests, 10 active projects, three folders, and one admin. It allows broad guest review but retains the project and folder limits.
Mockplus Cloud Pro: 2.48 USD per user/month, billed annually, with a three-user starting point, unlimited guests, projects, designs, folders, and admins. The page also shows $4.95; the annual-billing rate is the lower displayed price. This is the Cloud-focused option for teams needing more than the free project's limits.
Mockplus RP Free: No time limit; includes three prototypes, 10 pages per prototype, 10M Axure file import, and seven-day revision history. It lets users try RP without a subscription, but caps both prototype scale and revision history.
Mockplus RP Annual: 49.50 USD per year, billed annually; includes unlimited prototypes, pages, revision history, and Axure file import. The page also shows $99. This option removes RP's free-tier quotas without a recurring monthly billing structure.
Mockplus RP Perpetual: 249.50 USD per once, a one-off payment with no extra fees; includes unlimited prototypes, pages, revision history, and lifetime free updates. The page also shows $499. It avoids ongoing subscription payments, but requires a larger upfront purchase.
Mockplus DT Free: No time limit, up to 10 users, unlimited personal projects, three collaborative projects, three pages per project, and Sketch/Figma import. It supports individual work, but the collaborative-project and page limits narrow its usefulness for shared, detailed interface work.
Mockplus DT Premier: 3.29 USD per user/month, billed annually, with unlimited collaborative projects, pages, version histories, and free guests. The page also shows $6.58. It is the clearer choice for teams that need more collaborative capacity than DT Free allows.
Mockplus Cloud Enterprise and Mockplus DT Enterprise: Both have custom pricing. Cloud Enterprise includes custom features, internal-server deployment, SSO, and priority support; DT Enterprise offers custom features, own-server deployment, SSO, and priority support.

The different product plans and separately displayed prices mean teams should compare the relevant RP, DT, or Cloud tier rather than assume one price unlocks every capability.

Platforms

Mockplus supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, and offers a desktop app. Its platform coverage supports teams working across desktop and mobile environments, while the Classic HTML export adds an offline preview route for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.

Who it's for

Mockplus is a strong candidate for product teams that need a path from early wireframes to interactive prototypes, design review, and developer handoff. RP is the natural starting point for designers, product managers, and others developing early ideas; DT is better aligned with designers refining interface details; Cloud is most useful when teams need shared specs, assets, comments, and review workflows.

It is less compelling for a solo buyer seeking the general Pro tier, which starts at three users, or for organizations unwilling to have personal data hosted and potentially processed in China or other countries. Teams with sensitive data should also follow Mockplus's advice to keep it out of designs and uploaded materials.

Pros and cons

Pros

RP combines wireframing with interactions, gestures, and animations, supporting both rough concepts and clickable prototypes.
Cloud gathers specs, asset downloads, CSS snippets, comments, and review workflows for developer handoff.
Free options exist for the general plan and for RP, DT, and Cloud, with no time limit stated for RP Free and DT Free.
Enterprise plans include internal-server deployment, SSO, and priority support for organizations that need those controls.

Cons

The general Pro plan requires at least three users, limiting its appeal to individuals and very small teams.
Basic and Cloud Basic both cap active projects at 10 and folders at three, while the free RP and DT plans impose separate prototype, page, or collaboration limits.
Separate product plans and different displayed prices make it important to match the subscription to the specific Mockplus tool a team needs.
The service is hosted and operated in China, and personal data may be processed in China and possibly other countries; Mockplus also advises against uploading sensitive personal data.

Alternatives

Choose UXPin if a free tier with two prototypes and 50 AI credits after its 14-day trial better fits your evaluation needs. Fluid UI is another freemium option with a free lifetime account, and may suit readers comparing a no-cost prototyping route. Justinmind offers a free plan with one project, unlimited screens and viewers, and UI design and wireframing, making it worth considering when those allowances are a better match.

Marvel has a free tier limited to one user and one project, while its Pro plan is 12.00 USD per month billed yearly. Proto.io offers a free plan with one user, one active project, five prototype screens, 10 MB storage, and no additional reviewers. ProtoPie has a free tier for two prototypes saved in Cloud, eight scenes per prototype, 50MB Cloud storage, and personal libraries. Figma Slides is another freemium option for readers comparing tools in that category. Origami Studio is a free option available for macOS, iOS, and Android.

For category browsing, compare Mockplus with UI design tools, Developer Handoff Software, Design Collaboration Software, Wireframing Software, Prototyping Software, and Game UI Design Software.

Verdict

Mockplus is best for teams that need prototyping, collaboration, and developer handoff across distinct design stages. Its strongest reason to choose it is the combination of interactive RP prototypes and Cloud's detailed handoff workflow; its clearest reasons to look elsewhere are the Pro seat minimum, product-by-product plan complexity, and data-location considerations. It makes sense for teams that can match their needs to RP, DT, or Cloud and accept those trade-offs, but is less suited to solo buyers or organizations with strict data-residency requirements.
