Overview

Ragic is a no-code database builder for teams that need business records and processes shaped around their own requirements. It is best suited to organizations comfortable working with spreadsheet-style data that want relational records, permissions and reporting in one system. Its flexibility is a strong draw; the free plan’s tight custom-form and record caps make it a limited long-term home for growing databases.

Made by Ragic, Inc., founded in 2008 and based in Taipei, Taiwan, Ragic can be used as a cloud service or hosted on a customer’s own server. For category comparisons, see No-Code Database Software, No-Code Development Platforms and No-code app builders.

Key features

Custom business databases

Ragic uses a spreadsheet-like interface to build business databases without code. Relational data, an app interface builder, permission controls and workflow automation let teams connect records and define processes rather than accept a fixed-purpose app’s structure. That makes it a fit for needs ranging from contact management to broader systems such as ERP, though organizations that want a ready-made application may not benefit from taking on the work of shaping their own.

AI, search and reporting

Ragic AI can generate a database from a natural-language description and create records from uploaded files. Full-text search with filters helps users find records, while role- and responsibility-based permissions give administrators a way to control access. Reports include Gantt charts, pivot tables, calendars and ranking reports, a useful range for teams that need to inspect schedules and summarize operational data without relying only on raw lists.

Integrations, mobile access and security

Integrations include Zapier, IFTTT and Make; API documentation and JavaScript workflows provide other ways to connect or extend a system. The iOS and Android apps support cloud-synced editing and offline access to saved data, which helps staff who need records away from a desk. Ragic says it is certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and follows GDPR. Its security information describes SSL and disk encryption, audit logs, regular backups and daily full server backups; AWS and GCP hosting providers meet HIPAA standards, with business associate agreements available when needed.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and allows unlimited users, 3 custom sheets, up to 1,000 records per custom sheet and 10 GB of upload storage. It is a reasonable way to evaluate a small database, but the form and record ceilings can become obstacles as a team’s data grows.

Lite costs 5.00 USD per month, billed monthly, and includes 5 custom sheets, unlimited records and 10 GB of upload storage per user. Its record allowance removes the free plan’s main data ceiling, but the five-sheet cap still limits teams that need to model many parts of a business. Professional costs 19.00 USD per month, billed monthly, with unlimited custom sheets and records and 30 GB of upload storage per user. It is the more suitable individual-user plan for a system that is likely to expand across departments or workflows.

The concurrent-users plan costs 499.00 USD per month, billed for 10 concurrent users. It allows unlimited users, 10 concurrent users and 100 GB of upload storage per concurrent user. Enterprise costs 550.00 USD per month, billed annually, with a 10-user minimum, 10 concurrent users included by default and 100 GB of upload storage per user. The Enterprise concurrent-user plan costs 1399.00 USD per month, billed for 10 concurrent users, and includes unlimited users and 100 GB per concurrent user. These higher-cost options distinguish access by named users versus simultaneous logins; the annual Enterprise term and minimum seat count matter for buyers who need to budget around a fixed commitment.

A 30-day trial provides all features of the selected version with no user limit during the trial. This gives teams a substantial window to evaluate a higher-tier configuration before committing, while the plan limits still determine the longer-term fit.

Platforms

Ragic supports web access, iOS and Android apps, an API, and self-hosting. The mobile apps’ offline access applies to saved data, while self-hosting gives organizations the option to run the system on their own server.

Who it's for

Ragic suits teams that need a tailored database, linked records and workflows, and that value mobile access or the option to self-host. It is less compelling for teams with simple needs already met by a ready-made tool, or for organizations that need more than a handful of custom sheets but cannot move beyond the free plan’s limits.

Pros and cons

Pros: Relational data, permissions, workflow automation and a spreadsheet-like builder bring core database and process tools together without code.
Pros: Reports, integrations, API access and JavaScript workflows offer several ways to analyze or connect custom systems.
Pros: iOS and Android apps support offline access to saved data, and self-hosting is an option.
Cons: The free plan stops at 3 custom sheets and 1,000 records per sheet, so it is best treated as a small-scale starting point.
Cons: Lite still limits teams to 5 custom sheets; unlimited sheets require the 19.00 USD per month Professional plan.
Cons: The concurrent-user plans cost substantially more than the per-user tiers, while Enterprise requires an annual term and at least 10 users.

Alternatives

Adalo is worth considering when the priority is building and testing an app for Android, iOS or web; its free plan allows 500 records per app and one app editor. Bubble is another freemium web and mobile app option, with a free tier that includes one app editor and 50K workload units per month.

FlutterFlow may suit teams seeking a broader set of app platforms, including desktop operating systems, with a free tier for up to two projects. Formaloo offers unlimited forms, apps and monthly submissions on its free plan, but limits that tier to one team member seat and 1 GB of cloud storage.

Kodular is an Android-focused alternative with a free tier that caps projects at 10 and total assets at 10MB. Ninox is a database alternative with a free plan for up to five users, 5,000 records and 100 MB of storage.

Retool is another freemium option with web, mobile, API and self-hosted platforms, and a free plan. Noloco has a free plan with unlimited team seats, 50 active clients and 2,000 records, which may suit teams whose needs fit those allowances.

Verdict

Choose Ragic if your team wants to build a relational business database around its own workflows and values reporting, mobile access or self-hosting. Its strongest case is the combination of a flexible builder with search, permissions, integrations and reporting; look elsewhere if you need a ready-made app or if the custom-sheet limits of the lower-cost plans do not match your scale.
