Overview

Tithely Giving is a church donation service for congregations and ministry teams that want to collect gifts across digital and in-person channels. It is a strong fit for churches that need donor-managed recurring gifts and administrator reporting; organizations focused chiefly on minimizing processing costs should compare its transaction fees carefully.

Key features

Donors can make one-time gifts online, in a mobile app, by text, at a kiosk, or through administrative giving. Embedded forms and campaign pages extend giving beyond the app itself, while a donor portal lets people start, pause, or update recurring contributions. That combination suits congregations with varied giving habits, though churches needing tools beyond giving should weigh the bundled management options against their actual needs.

Payment choices include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, debit cards, ACH, and regional bank methods including PAD, BACS, BECS, and SEPA Direct Debit. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also supported. Administrators can view donation reporting in real time and generate tax statements; automated receipts and tax receipts are supported as well.

The giving experience is available in English, Spanish, French, Japanese, and Chinese. Tithely lists integrations with QuickBooks Online, Rock RMS, Salesforce, Planning Center Online, and Church Community Builder, which can make it a more practical fit for churches already using those systems. The company states that it meets PCI DSS Level 1 compliance standards. Customer support is available Monday through Friday, with phone support from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific Time.

Pricing

Free Giving costs 0.00 USD per free, with no monthly fees and unlimited donations; transaction fees still apply. U.S. credit and debit transactions cost 2.9% plus $0.30, ACH costs 1% plus $0.30, and American Express costs 3.5% plus $0.30. The no-monthly-charge plan is attractive for churches avoiding a subscription, but frequent or larger gifts can make processing charges a significant part of the budget.

Giving + Church Management costs 72.00 USD per month, with no setup fees, cancellation anytime, and unlimited admin users. Church Management is also 72.00 USD per month and includes giving plus church management tools, with a 30-day free trial. These plans suit churches that want management capabilities alongside giving; the free plan is the more economical choice when donation collection is the main requirement.

Other monthly options include a Custom Church Website for 19.00 USD per month, a standalone website plan with a 30-day free trial; a Custom Church App for 89.00 USD per month, also standalone with a 30-day free trial; and All Access for 119.00 USD per month, covering all tools at one flat rate with a 30-day free trial. Enterprise has custom pricing for organizations with 2,000+ attendees. The website and app plans make sense when a church needs that specific standalone product, while All Access is aimed at teams seeking the full tool set; smaller churches may not need to pay for that breadth.

Platforms

Tithely Giving supports Android, iOS, and web, allowing donors to give by app or browser and administrators to use the service online.

Who it's for

This is best suited to churches and ministry teams that want multiple donation channels, recurring-gift controls, and reporting in a church-focused service. It is less compelling for organizations whose main priority is a low processing rate, since the free plan still charges per transaction.

Pros and cons

Pros: Multiple channels and payment methods accommodate different donor preferences; donors can manage recurring gifts themselves; real-time reporting and tax statements support church administration.
Cons: The free plan is not fee-free, and listed card and ACH charges can add up with donation volume; paid bundles may be more than a giving-only church needs.

Alternatives

Vanco Giving is worth comparing for churches seeking a free plan; its GROW option charges $0/month, with card and ACH fees of 2.90% + $0.45 per transaction, and text-to-give costs $10.00/month. Give A Little may suit smaller fundraising needs: its free Basic plan covers up to $1,000 raised over 12 months, while Premium is 10.00 USD per month. Planning Center is another option for churches considering a broader set of church tools, with free Calendar, People, and Services plans subject to their stated limits.

Verdict

Choose Tithely Giving if your church wants several ways to collect donations, donor-controlled recurring gifts, and practical reporting in one church-focused service. Its free entry point avoids a monthly bill, but transaction fees remain; look elsewhere if minimizing per-gift costs matters more than the breadth of giving options.
