Overview

VectorStock advertises more than 50 million premium vectors and over 1 million free vectors, including vector, illustration, and editorial assets. That range gives individuals and creative teams a substantial pool to search, while natural-language AI search offers a way to look by describing a subject, style, or composition. The maker, based in Auckland, New Zealand, has operated since 2007.

The free license is for evaluation and personal use, not commercial work. The Pro License permits worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual use in commercial, client, digital, print, merchandise, and print-on-demand projects, with unlimited impressions and print runs. Assets licensed during an active subscription remain usable under that license after the subscription ends, a meaningful protection for finished work.

Key features

Search, formats, and customization

Natural-language search can help when a visual brief is easier to describe than to reduce to keywords. Files are offered in Adobe Illustrator AI, EPS, PDF, and SVG, supporting common editing and delivery workflows. A customization service can adjust colors, text, layout, or other small details; that is useful for modest adaptations, though it is not a substitute for a full bespoke design brief.

Licensing and download limits

The Pro License has broad commercial scope, including merchandise and print-on-demand, and allows unlimited impressions and print runs. Subscription downloads are nevertheless capped at 50 vector images per subscriber per day under the Fair Use Policy, despite the unlimited-download marketing. That is a generous daily allowance for many individual users, but production teams with concentrated high-volume needs should account for the ceiling. Content bought through Pay-per-Image, Credits, or Subscription cannot be used to train, develop, or improve AI or machine-learning models without a separate written agreement.

Account connections use TLS and passwords use salted one-way hashing. Paddle handles checkout and payment processing in PCI-DSS-compliant systems; VectorStock does not store full card details. The company aims to answer queries within 24 business hours and lists support hours Monday through Friday, 8AM–6PM GMT+12.

Pricing

VectorStock offers free access, one-off purchases, credits, and subscriptions. The subscription plans include one seat, so they fit an individual rather than a multi-seat team license.

Free License: 0.00 USD per free. It grants royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual use for evaluation and personal use only; it is not suitable for commercial deliverables.
Pay-per-Image: 14.99 USD per month, billed as one payment for each vector; a single-vector purchase includes the Pro License and has no ongoing commitment. It suits occasional commercial needs, but repeated purchases can be less convenient than a subscription.
Credits: 1.00 USD per month, with a USD $30 minimum purchase of 30 credits. This offers a non-subscription purchase route, but the stated minimum means it is not a small one-image outlay.
Annual Subscription: 9.99 USD per year, billed as a single upfront payment of USD $119.88. It includes the Pro License and downloads subject to the Fair Use Policy, up to 50 vectors per day. The lower monthly equivalent suits steady use, provided the upfront commitment works for the buyer.
Monthly Subscription: 14.99 USD per month, billed monthly, with the Pro License and up to 50 vectors per day under the Fair Use Policy. It costs more than the annual option at the stated monthly rate but avoids an annual upfront payment.
Exclusive Buyout: 399.00 USD per once, paid once after artist approval. It provides full ownership and removes the artwork from sale, making it a distinct choice when exclusivity matters more than subscription access.

The annual subscription's lower monthly equivalent comes with a USD $119.88 upfront charge; the monthly option bills month to month. Both retain licensed images after the subscription ends, but neither removes the daily quota.

Platforms

VectorStock is available on the web. Its single included team seat makes it a straightforward fit for solo users, while agencies sharing access across staff may need another arrangement.

Who it's for

Designers, agencies, businesses, content creators, and other creative professionals can use VectorStock to source vector artwork for commercial, client, digital, print, merchandise, and print-on-demand work. It is strongest for users who value a broad catalog, standard vector formats, and reusable commercial rights. It is less compelling for someone who needs only personal-use artwork, wants multiple included seats, or regularly exceeds 50 downloads in a day.

Pros and cons

Pro: The catalog advertises 50M+ premium and 1M+ free vectors, giving users breadth across a range of creative needs.
Pro: The Pro License spans commercial and client use, print and merchandise, with perpetual rights and unlimited impressions and print runs.
Pro: AI search accepts descriptive queries, and downloads include AI, EPS, PDF, and SVG formats.
Con: Free-license use is limited to evaluation and personal projects, so commercial users need a paid route.
Con: Subscription downloads stop at 50 vectors per subscriber per day, which may constrain high-volume production.
Con: A subscription includes one seat, limiting its direct fit for teams that need shared multi-user access.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison of stock vector libraries, consider what catalog and licensing model best fits the work. If photo assets are also central to a project, the stock photo websites guide covers that category.

Ouch! by Icons8 is worth considering for free illustrations when attribution is acceptable; it supports Android, iOS, web, desktop, API, and extension platforms.
Vecteezy offers a freemium alternative with web and API access and separate image-only, video-only, and all-access plan types.
GetIllustrations may suit API-oriented projects: its free Developer API tier provides 1,500 calls per month, free assets, and watermarked previews of premium assets.
IRA Design is a free option for downloadable illustration components under the MIT License, in SVG and PNG.
Worldvectorlogo is an alternative for users seeking a logo-focused API or web service.
Blush offers thousands of free illustrations with unlimited downloads, and its web and extension access may fit users seeking illustration resources rather than VectorStock's broader vector marketplace.
Clker is a free web alternative for users who want a no-fee option.
DrawKit provides unlimited free content on its Basic plan without requiring an account, making it an option for users prioritizing free assets.

Verdict

Choose VectorStock if you need a large vector marketplace with broad commercial rights, useful file-format coverage, and licensed assets that remain usable after a subscription ends. Look elsewhere if one seat is not enough, the free personal-use license is all you need, or your daily production routinely tops 50 vector downloads.
