Overview

Krikey turns text prompts or uploaded video into 3D character animations, then lets users refine them in a browser-based editor. You can create talking avatars, customize characters and poses, and adjust dialogue, expressions, gestures, backgrounds, and camera angles. That editing range helps when a generated scene needs shaping rather than a quick export as-is.

Exports include MP4, GIF, PNG, and FBX. Krikey also describes integrations and export workflows involving Canva, Adobe Express, Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, Roblox, Blender, Maya, ZBrush, and Omniverse. Its ElevenLabs integration supports speaking and singing characters in more than 20 languages with lip synchronization. The key limitation is that its animation tool currently supports bipedal characters only, making it a poor fit for work centered on other forms.

Key features

Prompt- and video-led animation: Start with text or an uploaded video. Having both options suits creators who want to develop an idea from a prompt as well as those working from existing footage.
Character and scene controls: Create talking avatars, customize characters and poses, and refine dialogue, facial expressions, hand gestures, backgrounds, and camera angles. These controls support more deliberate scene-making, though the bipedal-only limit narrows the kinds of characters you can animate.
Multiple export formats: MP4 and GIF suit animated media, while PNG and FBX offer other output routes. The listed workflows extend to creative and 3D tools such as Canva, Unity, and Blender.
Team editing: The web-based 3D editor supports simultaneous project editing, which can help a team work together rather than passing a scene between individual editors.
Voice and language support: The ElevenLabs integration supports speaking and singing characters in over 20 languages with lip synchronization. Krikey also offers voice cloning.

Pricing

Krikey offers a free plan and paid plans billed monthly. The free tier costs 0.00 USD per free and includes 20 one-time credits. It is a no-cost way to try the workflow, but a one-time credit allotment does not provide the recurring monthly supply of a paid plan.

Krikey AI Pro costs 15.00 USD per month and includes 165 monthly credits. It fits an individual creator who needs a continuing credit allowance. Krikey AI Teams costs 10.00 USD per month, requires a minimum of 3 people, and includes 200 monthly credits per person. That per-person allowance is higher than Pro's, but the minimum team size means it is not a cheaper single-user option.

Krikey AI Enterprise has custom pricing. It adds longer video uploads, multiple license management, automated provisioning, and SOC 2 Type 2 certification, making it the plan aimed at organizations with licensing and administration needs. Krikey's about page also lists SOC2 Type II certification, and its site footer says the platform is FERPA and COPPA certified.

Platforms

Krikey is available on Android, iOS, and the web. Its browser-based editor is central to the product's editing and collaboration features, while mobile platform availability gives users another way to access it.

Who it's for

Krikey identifies storytellers, educators, businesses, social media teams, marketing agencies, small businesses, and indie game developers as users. Its character customization, dialogue and scene controls, and broad export workflows make it a plausible fit for teams developing animated content or moving assets into other creative tools. The company says its users include K-12 classrooms, educators, and students, and describes the platform as designed for student safety. For animation projects requiring non-bipedal characters, the current tool is not the right choice.

Pros and cons

Pro — Editing goes beyond the initial generation: Users can refine dialogue, expressions, gestures, backgrounds, and camera angles, giving a scene several useful adjustment points.
Pro — Flexible output and workflows: MP4, GIF, PNG, and FBX exports, plus workflows involving media and 3D tools, support different destinations for finished work.
Pro — Team plan credits are per person: Teams get 200 monthly credits per person, with simultaneous editing in the web editor.
Con — Character coverage is restricted: The animation tool currently covers bipedal characters only, ruling out projects that depend on other character forms.
Con — Teams has a three-person minimum: The 10.00 USD per month plan requires at least 3 people, so solo users cannot choose it for its per-person credit allowance.
Con — Free credits are one-time: The free plan's 20 credits do not renew monthly, limiting its usefulness for ongoing work.

Alternatives

For illustrated comic-video work, Melted Crayons TV has a free Sketch plan with 30 monthly credits, image-only creation, standard voices, 1080p static comic-video export, and watermarks; it does not include panel animation. Choose it when that image-led comic format fits better than Krikey's bipedal 3D character animation.

Move AI offers a free tier with 30 credits that do not expire and supports videos up to 30 seconds. Its listed platforms include API, iOS, macOS, self-hosted, web, and Windows. Consider it when those platform options or its non-expiring free credits better suit the project.

Motion Transfer AI has a free Basic plan with 18 one-time signup credits, watermarked previews and downloads, and support for up to four images or one video; watermark-free downloads require payment. Its listed platforms are iOS and web. It is an alternative when that image- or video-based allowance is a closer fit.

Storybook Adventures is an iOS alternative.

Artiroom offers a one-time Starter Pack for 9.99 USD per once, with 15 credits, every model, watermark-free output, and scene downloads. Consider it when a one-time purchase and scene downloads are a better match than Krikey's monthly credit plans.

Charios has a free web plan with 3 active projects, 30 monthly credits, 13 bundled mocap clips, and community support. Its free-plan project and credit allowances make it worth considering when those constraints suit your needs.

DeepMotion Animate 3D offers a free web plan with 25 monthly credits, a 20-second clip limit, support for 2 people, 3 custom characters, 1080p output, and a 100 MB upload limit. Choose it when those stated clip and upload limits fit the work better.

LTX Studio has a free web plan with 800 one-time credits for personal use. Consider it when that free credit allowance and personal-use scope suit the project.

Verdict

Krikey AI is a strong fit for creators and teams who want to generate, refine, and export bipedal character animations from a browser. The most compelling reasons to choose it are its scene-editing controls, team collaboration, and range of output routes. Look elsewhere if your work needs non-bipedal characters, or if you need a recurring free credit allowance without a paid plan.
