Overview

Ordering.Tools brings digital menus, online ordering and kitchen routing together for restaurants serving dine-in, pickup and delivery. It is best suited to operators who want those workflows alongside marketplace and payment integrations. The free tier is a useful way to start, but its 20-order monthly ceiling makes paid plans the practical choice for higher volume—and those plans charge commissions on every order.

Key features

Menus and customer ordering

Customers can browse a restaurant’s menu in a phone browser without installing an app or creating an account. Menus support sizes, modifiers, promotions, multiple languages and labels for 14 major allergens, while availability controls help operators manage what customers can order. That combination serves varied menus and changing availability without requiring a customer app.

Kitchen flow and integrations

Dine-in, pickup and delivery orders can be routed to a kitchen screen, thermal printer or admin panel, with automatic status updates sent to customers. Orders can also connect to Reservation.Tools bookings, allowing preparation to start before guests arrive. POS synchronization and marketplace integrations for Wolt, Glovo, Takeaway, Bolt Food, Foodpanda and UberEats make Ordering.Tools more relevant to restaurants coordinating several order sources than to businesses seeking only a standalone menu.

Payment options include Stripe card payments with 3D Secure, MyPOS terminals, Barsy POS integration, and cash on pickup or delivery. Listed AI tools cover phone ordering, importing menus from photos, smart upsells, an admin assistant and product-description generation; the Free plan’s AI assistant questions and voice calls are subject to usage limits.

Security and setup

The privacy policy describes encryption in transit and at rest for stored files and backups, role-based access controls, hashed passwords and multi-tenant isolation. It identifies AWS infrastructure in Ireland and says data is not transferred outside the EU/EEA, UK and USA. Free setup assistance and a stated 30-minute go-live for most restaurants may help operators get started, though the actual setup time will depend on the restaurant.

Pricing

The Free plan costs €0 and allows 20 orders per month with no commission. It is the sensible starting point for a small operation or a trial run, but the monthly cap limits its usefulness once order volume grows.

Starter costs €30/month, billed monthly, and allows unlimited orders with a 5% platform commission on all orders. It removes the Free plan’s order ceiling, but the percentage charge can become significant as order volume rises. Pro costs €60/month, billed monthly, and also includes unlimited orders, with a lower 3% commission on all orders. It is the stronger fit when the reduced commission justifies the additional €30 per month; restaurants should compare the commission savings against that difference.

The Phone system add-on is sold separately and can be added to any plan. It costs €200 one-off for setup and €60 per month; prices exclude VAT. The Free plan’s AI assistant questions and AI voice calls are subject to usage limits.

Platforms

Ordering.Tools is available on Android, iOS and the web. Customers can browse menus in a phone browser without an app or account.

Who it's for

Ordering.Tools fits restaurants that need one system for multiple order types, kitchen routing and connections to marketplace services. Its menu controls and allergen labels also suit businesses managing multilingual or varied menus. It is less compelling for restaurants with order volumes beyond the free cap that want to avoid per-order commissions, or for operators who need a free plan without usage limits on AI features.

Pros and cons

Pro: One workflow covers dine-in, pickup and delivery, with routing to a screen, printer or admin panel.
Pro: Marketplace integrations and several payment routes can support restaurants receiving orders through different channels.
Pro: Browser-based menu browsing avoids requiring customers to install an app or create an account.
Con: The Free plan stops at 20 orders per month, a low ceiling for a busy restaurant.
Con: Both paid plans apply commissions to all orders, at 5% for Starter and 3% for Pro, in addition to monthly fees.
Con: The phone system add-on carries both a €200 setup charge and a €60 monthly fee, excluding VAT.

Alternatives

HungerRush may suit operators who want to consider a freemium platform with a qualifying Starter option from $0 per month for one location and one POS terminal.

Slant KDS is worth considering when kitchen display workflows are the priority: its Free Forever plan allows 100 orders per month, while its paid plan is listed at $32.00 per year.

Odoo Restaurant offers a free One App plan with unlimited users, so it may be preferable when that single-app structure fits the need.

Cibus KDS is another option for operators seeking a package that includes POS, QR Order & Pay, kitchen display, payments and receipts, staff mobile app and admin dashboard.

PAR Ordering is an alternative for restaurants evaluating a paid ordering product.

SterkChef may suit a single venue looking for a paid package with all 10 modules and a Mini-POS terminal app.

UrbanPiper is an option for operators who prefer unlimited orders with no per-order charges; its Hub plan costs £79.00 per month and has no one-time setup fee.

Fresh KDS is a paid alternative with a free trial and an Essentials plan at $20.00 per month per screen, focused on kitchen display capabilities.

Verdict

Ordering.Tools is a strong fit for restaurants that want menus, ordering and kitchen routing connected with marketplace and payment services. Its no-commission Free plan is useful for low-volume use, and Pro’s 3% rate is lower than Starter’s 5%; the main reason to look elsewhere is the recurring commission on every paid-plan order, which may outweigh the convenience of unlimited volume.
