Overview

Keepsafe Photo Vault is a mobile vault for photos, videos and documents on Android and iOS. It best suits people who want private storage with cloud recovery for personal or family images and important document copies. The combination of access controls and encrypted backup is appealing, but the free plan’s 200-item ceiling makes it a limited long-term option for larger collections.

Key features

A PIN, fingerprint authentication or Face ID protects entry to the vault. Custom albums help keep different kinds of material organized; Premium adds separate passwords for individual albums, which can be useful when one shared vault contains items that should not all have the same access. That extra separation comes at a subscription cost.

Keepsafe can sync vault items to a private cloud for recovery or use on another device. The company says photos and videos are protected with 256-bit AES encryption at rest, backups are encrypted, and employees cannot access or view users’ content. These are meaningful stated safeguards for stored files and copies, though they do not replace protecting the device and account.

Premium also includes a Decoy Vault with a separate PIN and Intruder Alerts that take a photo after an incorrect PIN attempt. Space Saver compresses photos on the device while saving originals to the cloud, making it relevant to users short on device storage who are comfortable keeping originals in backup. Safe Send allows pictures to be shared from Keepsafe for a limited time. The app also includes a private camera, although no further operating details are given.

Pricing

Keepsafe Basic is free. It includes 200 cloud items and is ad-supported, so it is best for a small collection or a trial of the vault’s basic approach—not for someone building a large archive.

Keepsafe Premium Monthly costs 9.99 USD per month, billed monthly, and automatically renews unless cancelled. Keepsafe Premium Yearly costs 23.99 USD per year, billed yearly, and also automatically renews unless cancelled. Both support up to 10,000 cloud items and include Premium features such as individual album passwords, Decoy Vault, Intruder Alerts and Space Saver. The yearly plan is the lower-cost route for someone confident they will keep using Premium; monthly billing costs more over a year but avoids committing to an annual billing period.

Keepsafe Premium Lifetime is a Lifetime plan with custom pricing and supports up to 100,000 cloud items with Premium features. Its much higher quota suits a very large archive, but the plan’s cost cannot be compared with the subscriptions from the stated price alone.

New accounts are offered a complimentary 30-day Premium trial, and Keepsafe says the trial does not automatically charge when it ends. Users who continue on a subscription should note the automatic renewal terms. Support is available by submitting a ticket in the app or emailing support@getkeepsafe.com.

Platforms

Keepsafe Photo Vault is available on Android and iOS, covering both major mobile platforms. Its stated use includes phones and tablets; no desktop platform is included.

Who it's for

This is a sensible fit for people who want a mobile home for private photos, videos and documents, especially when cloud recovery or access on another device matters. It can also serve people keeping family memories, copies of identity or credit cards, or organized documents together. The free tier is appropriate only when 200 cloud items and ads are acceptable; larger collections need a paid plan. Readers who do not want cloud-backed storage or recurring subscription terms may prefer a simpler on-device alternative.

Pros and cons

Pros: Encrypted cloud backup supports recovery and use on another device, rather than relying only on the contents of one phone.
Pros: PIN and biometric access, plus Premium album passwords and a separate-PIN Decoy Vault, give users several levels of privacy control.
Pros: The 30-day Premium trial ends without an automatic charge, giving new accounts time to assess paid features without an unwanted conversion.
Cons: Basic is capped at 200 cloud items and contains ads, a substantial constraint for anyone protecting a growing photo library.
Cons: Premium subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled, so users who choose monthly or yearly billing need to manage renewal.
Cons: Premium Lifetime supports more items but uses custom pricing, making its cost harder to weigh against the subscriptions.

Alternatives

Photo Vault Apps is the broader list to consult when comparing vault products rather than choosing among a single short set of features.

Choose Obscura Photo Vault if you use iOS and want a free single vault limited to 50 photos, or prefer its Pro Monthly plan at 6.99 USD per month for unlimited photos and videos and unlimited vaults. Keepsafe is the better fit across Android and iOS or when encrypted cloud backup and its larger stated quotas matter.

PhotoGuard is an Android alternative with a free download; Google Play lists ads and in-app purchases, while premium unlocks features and removes ads.

Consider Weave Vault if its free plan’s three vaults with 50 files per vault better suit a smaller, separated collection; it also offers a Pro annual plan with a seven-day trial for new subscribers. Keepsafe instead offers cloud backup quotas reaching 10,000 items on subscriptions.

Private Photo Vault may suit someone who wants an on-device photo and video vault on Android or iOS, but switching to Basic deletes Cloud Backup.

Secret Album: Photo Vault is an iPhone and iPad option with encrypted photo and video storage, and also supports macOS.

Vaulty is an Android option for readers who value free automatic Google Drive backup, while its free plan includes ads.

GalleryVault supports Android and iOS and offers a plan at 9.90 CNY per month with 100GB cloud storage, fingerprint unlock and folder lock, among other features.

Magic Photo Vault is another freemium option on Android and iOS.

Verdict

Keepsafe Photo Vault is a strong choice for mobile users who want access controls plus encrypted cloud backup for a private photo, video and document collection. Its Premium features add practical layers of privacy, storage management and temporary sharing, while the free tier’s 200-item cap is too restrictive for many growing archives. Choose Basic for a small, ad-tolerant vault; choose a subscription when you need room and privacy tools. Look elsewhere if cloud backup is not a priority or you want a free tier without such a low item limit.
