Overview

Logi Options+ is Logitech’s free software for customizing supported peripherals and shaping how they behave in individual apps. It is best for people who already use compatible Logitech devices and want more control over everyday input and workflows.

Its strongest case is the mix of device settings, app-specific actions, and tools for moving between computers. The trade-off is hardware dependence: some features work only with particular MX devices, so check compatibility before choosing it for a specific workflow.

Key features

Device and app controls

Pointer and scrolling speed, scroll direction, sensitivity, polling rate, gestures, macros, and per-app profiles give users room to tune supported devices for different tasks. Gestures can handle navigation or media control, while app presets and custom actions cover Chrome, Edge, Safari, Zoom, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Teams. That makes the software useful for people who switch between applications with distinct input needs; it is less compelling if you want a device-neutral utility.

Spotlight Effects add Highlight, Magnify, and Digital Laser pointing effects for presentations. Smart Actions can combine tasks behind one click or keystroke, which can reduce repeated steps in a regular workflow.

Device-dependent tools

Actions Ring places customizable tools in an on-screen overlay at the cursor, and Marketplace offers plugins, profiles, and icon packs. Both are available with MX devices except MX Webcam and MX Ink. Haptic feedback for specific actions is currently limited to MX Master 4, so it is not a general benefit of installing the software.

Flow controls multiple computers and operating systems and transfers text, images, and files between them. Supported keyboards can use Easy-Switch to move among as many as three devices with one key press. These tools suit users who regularly work across machines, though they matter only if the relevant Logitech devices support them.

Deployment and privacy

Organizations can silently deploy Options+ remotely through SCCM, Intune, and Jamf, and administrators can configure analytics, Flow, SSO, and automatic updates. Features can also be disabled with command-line parameters. Logitech says the software uses NIST 800-53 and ISO/IEC 27001:2013 as security roadmaps; data in transit uses HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or above, and local and AWS S3 server data are encrypted. With consent, the app may collect usage and diagnostic data, but not data entered through mice, keyboards, or touchpads. This gives administrators deployment controls and defined privacy boundaries, while users concerned about analytics should note that collection can occur with consent.

Pricing

Logi Options+ is free: the Logi Options+ plan is free for supported Logitech devices. There is no paid tier to weigh against the free version, so the key qualification is hardware compatibility rather than a feature quota or seat count.

The plan specifies Windows 10 or later and macOS 12 or later. The supported-platform requirements state Windows 10 or later and macOS 14 or later, so Mac users should treat macOS 14 or later as the applicable requirement.

Platforms

Logi Options+ supports Windows 10 or later and macOS 14 or later. It customizes supported Logitech mice, keyboards, lights, webcams, touchpads, presentation remotes, and MX Creative Console; it is not a general control app for unrelated peripherals.

Who it's for

Choose Options+ if you own supported Logitech devices and want to tailor input, create app-specific actions, or connect work across multiple computers. It is particularly useful for people whose supported MX devices qualify for Actions Ring or Marketplace, or who use an MX Master 4 for haptic feedback. Look elsewhere if your hardware is unsupported or you need those features on a device outside their stated limits.

Pros and cons

Pros

Free software combines pointer, scrolling, gesture, sensitivity, polling-rate, macro, and per-app profile controls for supported Logitech devices.
Flow and Easy-Switch can simplify moving work between computers and switching supported keyboards among up to three devices.
Remote deployment options and command-line feature controls give administrators ways to manage installations.

Cons

Actions Ring and Marketplace exclude MX Webcam and MX Ink, while haptic feedback is currently limited to MX Master 4.
Support is limited to specified Logitech peripherals, making the app a poor fit for users seeking cross-brand device controls.
Mac support requires macOS 14 or later under the supported-platform requirements.

Alternatives

For a broader set of keyboard and mouse customization software, compare other options if you do not want to rely on Logitech hardware. ROCCAT Swarm II is a free configuration option for compatible Turtle Beach devices, with Android, iOS, and Windows support.

BetterTouchTool is worth considering for a paid Mac-focused option: its Standard License is 15.00 USD per month and covers updates for 2 years, after which the last received version can still be used; one license covers personal Macs. Its Lifetime License is 25. be quiet! IO Center is another free option with Linux, macOS, web, and Windows platforms.

reWASD offers paid Basic and Advanced plans with lifetime access for 1 PC, at 14.99 USD per month and 39.99 USD per month respectively, both billed as one-time fees. HID Remapper is a free option supporting Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows.

Logitech G HUB is a free Logitech alternative for gaming mice, with device configuration, presets, game profiles, and LIGHTSYNC RGB customization. Rebind offers a free software mode with a Luau scripting runtime and no account requirement across Linux, macOS, and Windows. SteelSeries GG is a free download for Windows 10 or later and macOS.

Verdict

Logi Options+ is the right choice for Logitech peripheral owners who want detailed input controls, app-specific customization, or multi-computer workflows without a software fee. Its main reason to choose it is the breadth of controls in one Logitech-focused app; its main reason to look elsewhere is that key features depend on eligible devices and it does not serve unrelated hardware.
