Overview

Julius converts natural-language questions into code that it runs against the user's data. Alongside answering questions, it can clean data, create visualizations, and perform statistical analysis, modeling, and forecasting. That breadth suits work that goes beyond quick summaries, though it may be more tool than needed for someone who only wants occasional spreadsheet charts.

It accepts Excel and CSV files, Google Sheets, images, PDFs, Word documents, and text files, and connects to databases and services including Postgres, BigQuery, Snowflake, MySQL, SQL Server, Supabase, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Google Drive, and OneDrive. It can produce charts, presentations, reports, websites, images, and videos. Julius says it imposes no row-count or data-size cap, but practical capacity depends on whether a workload fits in 32 GB of sandbox RAM—a meaningful consideration for large datasets.

Key features

Analysis and deliverables

Because Julius writes and runs code to compute answers, it can handle questions that call for analysis rather than simply restating a file. Cleaning, statistical analysis, modeling, and forecasts extend its use beyond visualization. The range of output formats is helpful when findings must be shared in different forms, but the feature set will matter less to users who need only a single chart or export.

Connections, privacy, and scale

SQL connections and integrations with cloud databases and services make it possible to work across sources instead of relying only on file uploads. Julius says connected customer data stays in the customer's cloud, files are access-controlled, code runs in isolated environments, and in-app deletions erase files from its servers. It states that it is SOC 2 Type II compliant and does not use personal information to train its AI models. These are relevant safeguards for sensitive work, while the 32 GB sandbox RAM remains a practical ceiling even without an enforced row-count or data-size limit.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free (billed $0 / month) and includes daily credits, limited AI creation features, and the Google Drive connector. It is a sensible way to try the workflow, but limited creation features and daily credits make it a weak basis for predictable, heavier use.

Plus costs 20.00 USD per month (billed $20 / month; $16 / month with yearly billing). It includes 2,000 monthly credits, one seat, unlimited file storage formats and charts, and email and community support. This is the entry paid option for an individual who needs regular access; the single seat rules it out as a team plan.

Pro costs 45.00 USD per month (billed $45 / month; $37 / month with yearly billing). It raises the allowance to 5,000 monthly credits, keeps one seat, and adds an expanded context window and priority email support. It fits a solo user whose work benefits from a larger context and more credits, but still does not accommodate multiple users.

Max costs 200.00 USD per month (billed $200 / month; $166 / month with yearly billing). Its 25,000 monthly credits, larger context window, permanent file storage, and priority access at high-traffic times target heavier individual workloads. The price jump from Pro is substantial, so it makes sense only when those added capacity and storage provisions are useful.

Business costs 450.00 USD per month (billed $450 / month; $375 / month with yearly billing). It provides 60,000 monthly credits for up to 50 team members, Postgres, BigQuery, Snowflake and other connectors, plus unlimited custom agents and scheduled report runs. This is the plan for teams that need shared access and repeatable reporting; it costs far more than the individual plans and is not aimed at a single user's occasional analysis.

Enterprise has custom pricing (billed Contact Us) and includes unlimited credits, custom data connectors, and additional security features including SSO, audit logging, and fine-grained RBAC. Its added controls suit organizations with multiple internal teams or additional security needs; it is not a published fixed-price option for smaller buyers.

Platforms

Julius runs in a browser and has iPhone and Android apps for mobile chatting. That gives users access across web and mobile, though the mobile apps are described for chatting rather than as a separate desktop-style analysis workspace. CSV and Excel are the stated export formats.

Who it's for

Julius is best for individuals who need natural-language analysis across files and connected sources, and for teams that want to turn analysis into reports or scheduled outputs. Plus and Pro are individual plans; Business is the clearest fit for collaborative work with up to 50 members, while Enterprise is positioned for broader internal teams or additional security requirements. It is less compelling for occasional basic charting or for users whose workloads may exceed the sandbox's practical memory capacity.

Pros and cons

Broad analytical scope: cleaning, visualizations, statistical analysis, modeling, and forecasting support more than simple file summaries.
Many input and output paths: file imports and named connectors cover mixed sources, while charts, presentations, reports, websites, images, and videos support varied deliverables.
Useful stated safeguards: isolated code environments, access-controlled files, deletion from servers, SOC 2 Type II compliance, and no personal-information training address several privacy concerns.
Credit allowances shape paid use: plans range from 2,000 monthly credits on Plus to 60,000 on Business, so a buyer needs to match the tier to expected activity.
Individual plans are single-seat: Plus and Pro are not collaboration plans, and the Business tier's 450.00 USD per month price is a much larger commitment.
Large jobs still face a practical constraint: workloads must fit within 32 GB of sandbox RAM despite the absence of an enforced data-size or row-count cap.

Alternatives

Quadratic is another freemium option, with a free plan and a wider set of listed platforms including desktop, self-hosted, and API access; consider it if those platform choices matter more than Julius's specified analysis and output range. H2O.ai is a paid product with a free plan, and its H2O-3 OSS is an Apache-licensed machine-learning platform for Python and R; it is the alternative to consider when open-source machine learning is the priority. Veezoo is a paid option with a free trial and a Pro plan supporting up to 300 users, making it worth considering when a larger stated user allowance matters.

ExcelGPT has a free plan with up to 90 credits per month via daily check-in and AI data analysis, plus a Pro plan at 19.90 USD per month; it is a lower-priced option to consider for spreadsheet-focused analysis. Byaan offers a free macOS app for individuals and a self-hosted team version; choose it when a free individual Mac app or self-hosting is the priority. Chartt has a free plan with 100 credits monthly, files under 100 MB, one data source, and PNG and CSV export; it is a narrower-budget option when those caps fit the job. Kiln offers a free open-source Python library and desktop app with local datasets and git sync; it suits readers prioritizing local datasets and an open-source library. Loam has a free individual plan for uploading files, asking grounded questions, and connecting supported AI tools; it is an alternative for an individual seeking a free file-questioning workflow.

Verdict

Choose Julius if you want natural-language analysis that can span files and connected sources, with outputs beyond charts and plans that scale from solo work to teams. Its range of analysis and deliverables is the main reason to choose it; monthly credit limits, single-seat individual tiers, and the high cost of Business are reasons to look elsewhere if usage is heavy, shared, or only occasional.
