Overview

Infinite Campus combines attendance, gradebook, parent access, fee management, admissions and enrollment, and transport management in a district-oriented SIS. The company says it includes more than 1,500 tools and can work alongside learning management, food service, communications, online registration, payments, dropout prevention, and activity registration through a single login. That breadth may simplify connected district workflows, but organizations seeking only one focused function may not need a platform of this scope.

Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Blaine, Minnesota, Infinite Campus serves school districts, regional consortia, state education departments, and the federal government.

Key features

Family and student apps

Campus Parent gives families access to grades, assignments, attendance, food service, announcements, school stores, fees, and activity registration. Campus Student provides grades and assignments; whether students can submit assignments depends on district offerings. The apps give families and students direct access to routine school information, though the student workflow can vary by district. Both require Android 5.0 or later or iOS 13.4 or later.

Integrations and updates

API setup, ad hoc reporting, and automated data extraction support exchanges with third-party applications. Credentialed systems can retrieve roster and section data through OneRoster, and may also retrieve assignments, grades, and scores when enabled. The important constraint is directional: non-partner vendors can request roster data but cannot send data, including grades, back to Campus. Districts that need a custom connection can ask Technical Services to scope the work and provide a fee-for-service quote where possible.

The company says it delivers 13 product releases each year at no additional cost. Add-ons include Food Service, Messenger with Voice, Online Registration, Payments, Analytics, Data, Learning, Workflow, and Report Translation. These options extend the system's reach, but districts should determine which products and integrations fit their workflows.

Security and support

Infinite Campus says customer data is held in secure U.S.-based data centers, with a separate database for each SIS site and daily backups retained for 30 days unless the contract requires otherwise. The company says it adheres to FERPA and COPPA and conducts regular SOC 2 Type 2 audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests; a detailed SOC 2 report can be provided after a customer signs an NDA. Authorized district contacts can reach support through a secure case portal or toll-free number, with 24/7 managed-services support for system outages. Campus Community also offers 24/7 online support, a knowledge base of more than 6,000 resources, and forums.

Pricing

Infinite Campus is paid software with custom pricing. Districts must request pricing directly; no public plan tiers, seat limits, or trial terms are provided. The company says its 13 annual product releases carry no additional cost, but districts should confirm the price and scope of the core SIS, add-ons, and any fee-for-service integrations before choosing it.

Platforms

Infinite Campus supports Android, iOS, web, and API access. The parent and student apps are available through iTunes and Google Play, subject to the stated operating-system requirements.

Who it's for

This is a strong candidate for school districts and regional or public-sector education organizations that want student records alongside family access and related school services. Its broad scope is less compelling for a school seeking only fee collection or a small standalone workflow, and the OneRoster restriction rules it out for districts that require non-partner systems to push grades into Campus.

Pros and cons

Pro: More than 1,500 tools and a single-login approach can bring multiple district services into one platform.
Pro: Parent and student apps expose grades and assignments, with families also able to access attendance, fees, and other school information.
Pro: The company describes regular security assessments, daily backups, and 24/7 outage support for managed-services customers.
Con: Non-partner vendors can retrieve certain OneRoster data but cannot send grades or other data to Campus.
Con: Custom pricing means districts need a direct quote to assess cost against their needs.

Verdict

Choose Infinite Campus if your district wants a wide student-information platform with connected school services, family and student apps, and district-oriented support. Its main advantage is the breadth of workflows under one system; its clearest reason to look elsewhere is the inability of non-partner vendors to send grades into Campus, alongside custom pricing that requires a direct quote.
