Overview

Hunter spans the path from finding companies and contacts to sending outreach: Domain Search and Email Finder locate professional addresses, Email Verifier checks them, Discover filters a B2B lead database, and Sequences automates cold emails with open tracking. That breadth suits teams that want a single service for prospecting and email outreach. Buyers who need only a single lookup or verification function may find the broader package unnecessary.

Hunter says its database draws on public web sources, and Domain Search results include where and when contact data was found. People can claim an email address to edit associated fields or request removal of the address and related data. Its Chrome extension can surface email addresses, names and social profiles connected to a website. Integrations include Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Outlook, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, Clay and Snowflake.

Key features

Contact discovery and verification

Domain Search, Email Finder and Email Verifier cover finding and checking professional addresses. Discover adds market-segmentation filters for companies and leads, giving Hunter more prospecting range than an address finder alone. The Free plan’s 50 monthly credits and limit of 10 emails per domain in CSV exports are restrictive for users building substantial lists.

Outreach and connections

Sequences automates cold emails and tracks opens, while the Chrome extension can find contact details from a website. The listed integrations connect Hunter with CRM, productivity and automation tools, including Pipedrive, Google Sheets, Zapier and Make. One connected email account on Free is suitable for an individual starting out; teams managing several mailboxes need a paid tier.

Data and security

Hunter says customer data is hosted on Google Cloud Platform in Belgium and encrypted at all times. Its security controls include risk-based assessments, access controls, vulnerability scans, penetration tests and an ongoing bug bounty program. These measures give security-conscious buyers concrete practices to weigh, alongside its stated process for editing or removing claimed email data.

Pricing

Hunter uses a freemium model, with a Free plan at 0.00 EUR per free, billed monthly. It includes 50 monthly credits, basic Discover filters, one connected email account and 500 recipients per sequence; CSV exports are capped at 10 emails per domain. Regular support is included. This is a useful way for an individual to try the workflow, but the credit and export limits are a poor fit for sustained prospecting.

Starter, Growth and Scale have custom pricing. Starter includes 2,000 monthly credits, auto-verification, lead enrichment and three connected email accounts. Growth raises the allowance to 10,000 credits and ten accounts; Scale provides 25,000 credits and twenty accounts. All three add auto-verification and lead enrichment, while paid tiers receive priority support. The stepped quotas make the plans easier to match to team volume, though the missing fixed prices make cost comparison difficult. Scale also includes an account manager.

Enterprise has custom pricing, custom credit volume and custom connected email accounts, plus an account manager. It is the tier for organizations that need capacity beyond fixed allowances, rather than a predictable self-serve plan.

Data Platform bulk credits cost 6500.00 USD per once and include 1,000 Search credits and 200,000 Verification credits, usable for up to 12 months from purchase. That one-time option favors buyers with a large verification workload; its search-credit allotment is much smaller than its verification balance.

Platforms

Hunter is available on the web, through an API and as a browser extension. The Chrome extension is particularly relevant to researchers who want to look up contacts while browsing company websites.

Who it's for

Hunter is a strong fit for sales, marketing and recruiting teams that want company discovery, email lookup, verification and automated outreach in one service. Individuals can begin on Free, while teams should weigh the paid tiers’ larger credit allowances and additional connected accounts against custom pricing. It is less suitable for high-volume prospecting on a free allowance or for buyers who only need a narrow email tool.

Pros and cons

Pros: Domain Search, Email Finder, verification, lead discovery and outreach cover several stages of email prospecting in one service.
Pros: Domain Search includes where and when contact data was found, and people can request edits or removal of claimed address data.
Pros: The API, Chrome extension and integrations with CRM and automation tools support different research workflows.
Cons: Free’s 50 monthly credits and 10-email-per-domain CSV cap limit its usefulness for regular list building.
Cons: Starter, Growth, Scale and Enterprise use custom pricing, which makes budget comparisons less direct.
Cons: The bulk-credit option pairs 1,000 Search credits with 200,000 Verification credits, so it is weighted heavily toward verification.

Alternatives

For a different email-finding option, compare Datagma, GetEmail.io, Kaspr, SignalHire, Voila Norbert, Wiza, AeroLeads and Minelead. GetEmail.io and SignalHire offer free trials, while Hunter does not; consider them if a trial is important before choosing a paid option. The other alternatives are freemium with free plans, as is Hunter, so compare their allowances and paid terms against Hunter’s prospecting and outreach range.

Browse Email Finder Software for more address-finding choices, Email Outreach Software for outreach tools, Email Scheduling Software for scheduling options, and B2B Contact Data Providers for contact-data services.

Verdict

Choose Hunter if your team wants to connect B2B discovery, email finding, verification and cold outreach in one service, with API and extension access. Its clearest trade-off is scale: Free is tightly capped, while larger monthly allowances require custom-priced plans. For narrow lookup needs or buyers who need clear published prices before committing, compare alternatives first.
