Overview

Ganttic is a resource-planning tool for coordinating project portfolios and assigning work across people and physical assets. It is a strong fit for teams that need to plan different kinds of shared resources in one place. Its unlimited-user model is appealing when the resource pool is modest, but API access requires a paid plan.

Key features

The online planner pairs a visual Gantt chart with resource and task perspectives, and lets users schedule by dragging items into place. That makes it useful for work where availability matters as much as task sequence, whether the resource is a person, room, vehicle, machine or piece of equipment. Time blocking, recurring tasks and workload planning support ongoing scheduling; reports and Kanban boards offer additional ways to review work.

Google Calendar and Outlook syncing, Zapier integrations and an API can connect Ganttic with other workflows. The API is limited to paid plans, although trial users can request access to evaluate it. Teams that need API connectivity from the outset should account for that restriction when considering the free tier.

Customizable Owner, Admin and User permissions and an account History Log provide access controls and an activity record. Ganttic says the service is hosted on AWS servers in Frankfurt, Germany, and is GDPR compliant. Its stated safeguards include AWS WAF protection, TLS 1.2 encryption, annual third-party penetration tests and backups four times daily. Email support, help materials and unlimited personalized support demos round out the service.

Pricing

Ganttic bases pricing on the number of resources planned rather than the number of users, and all plans include unlimited users. That structure can suit organizations with many collaborators sharing a smaller resource pool, but costs rise as more resources need scheduling.

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free, billed monthly, and covers up to 10 resources with unlimited users and projects, Gantt charts, reports and Kanban boards. The separate Free Resource Planner also costs 0.00 USD per free and includes 10 resources or fewer, unlimited users and all features except API access. Either free option is suited to individuals or small businesses whose resource needs stay within the cap; the API restriction is the main drawback for integration-heavy workflows.

PRO 20 costs 25.00 USD per month, billed monthly. It supports up to 20 resources, unlimited users and projects, all features and API access. It is the relevant step up for a team that has outgrown the free resource limit or needs the API, though the 20-resource ceiling remains important for larger pools.

The 14-day trial includes all features, unlimited resources and users, and does not require a credit card. Trial users can request API access, making the trial a useful way to assess the full workflow before choosing a plan.

Platforms

Ganttic supports web, iOS and Android. Its mobile app is available for Apple and Android devices, so teams can access the planner beyond a desktop browser.

Who it's for

Ganttic is best for companies that coordinate projects across a mix of people and physical resources, especially when many users need access but the planned resource count is limited. The free plan makes it a credible option for individual planning and small businesses up to 10 resources. Organizations that need a larger pool should consider the paid tier, while teams that require API access at no cost should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: Resource-based pricing with unlimited users avoids per-seat limits for teams sharing a defined pool of people or assets.
Pro: The 14-day, no-card trial includes all features and unlimited resources and users, giving teams room to evaluate beyond the free plan’s cap.
Pro: Resource and task views cover both people and physical assets, with calendar syncing and Zapier integrations to connect planning workflows.
Con: The free plans stop at 10 resources, which may be restrictive as a team’s scheduling needs grow.
Con: API access is excluded from the free plan; trial users can request it, but ongoing access requires a paid plan.

Alternatives

Choose Agantty if a free Gantt option is the priority and its free plan’s one-project limit, lack of teams and lack of support are acceptable. Consider Sinnaps if its free allowance of up to 20 people per project and 10 projects better matches the team’s needs.

Oracle Primavera Cloud is another option for readers comparing paid planning tools. Autodesk Forma Schedule is worth considering when Schedule as part of Autodesk Build fits the choice. TeamGantt is an alternative for readers comparing Gantt planning tools, while Asta Powerproject is another paid option. GanttPRO and Ingantt are also alternatives to compare.

Verdict

Choose Ganttic if your team needs to schedule both people and physical resources, and unlimited users on a resource-based plan are more useful than per-seat pricing. Its broad resource model, useful scheduling views and generous trial make it a sound fit for small pools and teams evaluating a larger rollout. Look elsewhere if the 10-resource free cap is too tight or if you need API access without a paid plan.
