Overview

Mixmax combines inbox-based outreach with a web dashboard for managing sequences, reports, and workspace settings. Gmail users work through a Chrome extension; Outlook users have an add-in. This is a meaningful constraint: Apple Mail, Yahoo, and other email providers are not supported, and Gmail use requires Chrome.

Sequences can combine follow-up emails, tasks, and scheduled calls, with merge variables and CSV uploads for personalization and recipient management. Open and click tracking updates in real time and can trigger desktop notifications; reply detection helps keep responses visible. The result is a more coordinated outreach workflow than standalone tracking, although the daily sending limit may be as low as 1,000 emails per user to avoid Google or Microsoft rate limits.

Key features

Scheduling links let recipients select a time and add the meeting to both calendars, reducing scheduling friction for sales conversations. Automatic sync records emails, meetings, and sequence activity in Salesforce or HubSpot. Rules can also create Salesforce tasks after an email is opened or add recipients to sequences when deal stages change. Those connections make Mixmax most compelling where a team already relies on these CRMs; teams using other customer systems should not assume equivalent sync.

More than 40 native integrations are included on every plan, so the entry tier is not restricted to a smaller integration catalog. Mixmax states that it is SOC 2 Type II certified, HIPAA compliant, GDPR and CPRA compliant, and audited by Google. It encrypts data at rest with AES-256-GCM and in transit with TLS 1.2 or higher. Support options include a Help Center, support messenger, email support, and the Maxine AI assistant in the web app, available 24/7.

Pricing

Mixmax has a free plan and a 14-day trial. The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes 20 tracked emails per month and up to 50 sequence recipients per month. That can suit light use or initial evaluation, but the tracking quota and small sequence audience are restrictive for ongoing team outreach.

Inbox Copilot: $29.00 USD per month billed annually, or $34/mo monthly. It includes unlimited email tracking and up to 100 sequence recipients per month. This is the lowest paid tier, but the recipient cap still favors modest outreach.
Engagement Copilot: $49.00 USD per month billed annually, or $65/mo monthly. It raises the allowance to 1,500 sequence recipients per month while retaining unlimited tracking, making it better suited to regular outreach.
Mixmax Suite: $89.00 USD per month billed annually, or $105/mo monthly. It includes unlimited tracking, up to 1,500 sequence recipients per month, and 200 post-meeting summaries per month. The recipient limit matches Engagement Copilot, so its case rests on the added summaries.
Meeting Copilot: custom pricing; it is included in Suite and has up to 100 sequence recipients and 200 post-meeting summaries per month.
Mixmax for Teams: custom pricing, with unlimited sequences and up to 3,000 sequence recipients per month. This is the tier for teams that need greater sequence volume, though the recipient allowance remains finite.

The published annual prices are per user per month, and monthly billing costs more on the first three paid tiers. Compare the recipient caps with expected monthly volume before committing; the possible daily sending limit is a separate constraint. Mixmax states no renewal term in these plan prices.

Platforms

Mixmax supports web, API, extension, Linux, macOS, and Windows. Email use is narrower than that platform list suggests: the supported inboxes are Gmail and Outlook, with Chrome required for the Gmail extension.

Who it's for

Mixmax is a strong fit for revenue teams already working in Gmail or Outlook who want outreach, scheduling, engagement signals, and Salesforce or HubSpot activity connected. It is less suitable for users on unsupported email providers, or teams whose sequence audience exceeds a plan's monthly recipient allowance.

Pros and cons

Pro: Sequences bring emails, tasks, and scheduled calls together, supporting structured follow-up rather than isolated sends.
Pro: Calendar scheduling and Salesforce or HubSpot sync connect outreach to meetings and customer records.
Pro: More than 40 native integrations are included on every plan, including the free tier.
Con: Free tracking and recipient allowances are small, while even paid tiers have stated monthly sequence-recipient caps.
Con: Gmail users must use Chrome, and Apple Mail, Yahoo, and other providers are unsupported.
Con: Sending may be limited to 1,000 emails per user per day, which can constrain higher-volume campaigns.

Alternatives

For a free starting point with more stated inbox accounts and a small sequence allotment, consider Growbots: its free plan includes 20 email accounts, three sequences, and up to 20 emails per inbox per day, with partial access to its 180M+ prospects database. Choose it over Mixmax when those allowances and database access better fit the workflow.

Mystrika is another freemium option; its Free Forever plan includes 500 Prospect Slots.

Outplay offers a free plan for one user, two mailboxes, and 2,000 active prospects per month, making it an alternative when those free-plan quantities are the priority.

Regie.ai has a free plan with 250 one-time credits per person, shared by up to 10 people, for research, enrichment, drafting, and agents; consider it when those credit-based capabilities are the better match.

Yesware has a free plan with basic open and attachment tracking, 10 campaign recipients per month, and Meeting Scheduler. Snov.io, Woodpecker, and Mails.ai are also alternatives.

Verdict

Choose Mixmax if your revenue team uses Gmail or Outlook and wants sequences, scheduling, tracking, and CRM activity connected in one workflow. Its integration breadth and CRM links are the strongest reasons to choose it; provider restrictions, plan recipient caps, and the possible daily send limit are the clearest reasons to look elsewhere.
