Overview

FraudLabs Pro screens online orders for payment fraud, scoring transactions and recommending whether to approve, review, or reject them. It best suits merchants that want configurable checks through a storefront module or API; it is less suitable for businesses seeking a chargeback guarantee.

Its breadth of order and customer checks is useful, but plan limits matter: the free Micro tier is capped at 500 queries per month, and higher volumes require a monthly subscription. Compare it with our Payment Fraud Detection Software and Fraud Detection Software lists.

Key features

Transaction scoring: A fraud score and approve, review, or reject recommendation give merchants a decision signal at order time. Real-time scoring supports that workflow, but the service does not guarantee chargeback coverage.
Multiple validation signals: Checks span IP location and proxy use, billing and shipping addresses, accounts, email, disposable phone numbers, credit cards, transaction details, devices, and blacklists. Custom rules and device fingerprinting allow tailored screening; rule allowances rise from 5 on Micro to 40 on Enterprise, so complex setups may need a paid tier.
Learning from outcomes: Machine-learning models analyze transaction history and merchants' approval, rejection, and blacklisting actions to learn fraud patterns. This connects screening to merchant decisions, though no particular detection result is promised.
Storefront and API connections: Ready-made modules cover Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, BigCommerce, OpenCart, WHMCS, and others, alongside a REST API. That gives merchants more than one integration route. Micro also includes Android and iOS apps.
Privacy and security: The service processes order-related information for fraud assessment, and its policy provides a process to request data deletion or opt out of personal-data sale. Its Data Processing Addendum refers to technical and organizational measures appropriate to processing risks, including GDPR Article 32 measures.

Pricing

FraudLabs Pro uses a freemium model, with monthly subscriptions and no yearly subscription option. Micro is 0.00 USD per free and includes 500 queries per month, 5 validation rules, no grouping rules or sub accounts, 50 custom blacklists, and Standard Support. It is limited to businesses with monthly sales under 25K USD. That is a useful entry point for smaller sellers, but the query cap and lack of grouping rules constrain growth. The pricing page also states 1,500 included transactions per month, separate from the plan's 500-query allowance.

Paid plans include Priority Support. Mini costs 29.95 USD per month for 1,500 queries, 5 validation rules, 1 grouping rule, no sub accounts, and 150 custom blacklists. It suits merchants who have outgrown Micro's query cap but do not need more rules or account seats.

Small costs 99.95 USD per month for 5,000 queries, 10 validation rules, 2 grouping rules, 1 sub account, and 500 custom blacklists. Medium costs 249.95 USD per month for 25,000 queries, 20 validation rules, 5 grouping rules, 2 sub accounts, and 2,500 custom blacklists. These tiers add capacity and room to organize screening, with Medium better suited to businesses processing substantially more orders or managing multiple sub accounts.

Large costs 499.95 USD per month for 100,000 queries, 30 validation rules, 10 grouping rules, 4 sub accounts, and 10,000 custom blacklists. Enterprise costs 1249.95 USD per month for 500,000 queries, 40 validation rules, 20 grouping rules, 8 sub accounts, and 50,000 custom blacklists. They target high-volume operations that need larger screening and rule allowances; the price jump makes them hard to justify for smaller shops. A free 14-day Medium trial offers a way to evaluate a higher-capacity tier before committing.

Platforms

FraudLabs Pro supports Android, iOS, web, and API access, with ready-made integrations for a range of ecommerce platforms. Its supported channel is online, so it is aimed at merchants screening ecommerce orders rather than broader payment settings.

Who it's for

Startups through enterprises accepting online payments can use FraudLabs Pro to reduce fraud risk, but the right fit depends on query volume, required validation rules, and account structure. Micro is appropriate for businesses under 25K USD in monthly sales that can work within 500 queries; merchants needing more capacity or controls must move to a paid plan. Sellers that require guaranteed chargeback protection should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: Broad validation signals and custom rules let merchants screen more than card details alone.
Pro: Store modules and a REST API provide several ways to connect screening to an online store or service.
Pro: A free tier and 14-day Medium trial make it possible to start without immediately paying for a subscription.
Con: Micro's 500-query monthly cap and sales ceiling limit its usefulness as a shop grows.
Con: Sub accounts and larger rule allowances are reserved for more expensive plans, making advanced setups costly.
Con: Fraud scoring can guide order decisions, but there is no chargeback guarantee.

Alternatives

Verdict

Choose FraudLabs Pro if your business needs configurable, multi-signal screening for online orders and can match its monthly query and rule allowances to your volume. Its store integrations, API, and free entry plan are practical strengths; the main reasons to look elsewhere are the escalating cost of higher capacity and the absence of a chargeback guarantee.
