Overview

Getcontact pairs caller ID with automatic protection against robocalls, telemarketers and scam calls. Users can also report unwanted numbers, contributing to a shared pool of caller and spam information. That shared approach can help people screen calls, but its value depends on community reporting rather than a purely personal block list.

The service is freemium: the basic mobile app costs 0.00 USD per free, and paid plans add ad removal, privacy and lookup-related features. Before enabling relevant functions, consider that the app may request access to contacts and may periodically synchronize contact-list data when those functions are enabled.

Key features

Caller ID identifies calls from numbers outside your contacts, while Spam Protection can automatically guard against unwanted calls. The free number-lookup page uses community search and report data to help identify callers and flag spam. These tools are most useful to people who regularly receive unfamiliar calls; those seeking only occasional screening may not need the paid lookup tiers.

Premium adds ad-free use, information about who viewed your tags and who queried your number, private mode, a Premium badge and three-month phone-number search statistics. These extras focus on using and monitoring Getcontact’s tag and lookup features, not just call screening.

Getcontact Web enables computer access by opening the app on a phone and scanning a code, so web use still depends on the mobile app. The Privacy Management Centre lets subscribers and non-subscribers control profile visibility, edit profile information or deactivate a profile. Getcontact says it does not sell personal information and funds free access through advertising partners; its privacy policy says messages between users use end-to-end encryption and developers cannot read their contents. Customer support is available 24/7, with support@getcontact.com as a contact channel.

Pricing

The free basic version covers standard mobile-app functionality at 0.00 USD per free. It is the sensible starting point for basic screening, but does not include the Premium package’s listed benefits.

Getcontact Premium: 2.99 USD per month, billed Monthly. It removes ads and includes tag-viewer information, number-query information, private mode and a Premium badge.
Tariff 1: 6.99 USD per month for 100 searches and 10 tag views.
Tariff 2: 13.99 USD per month for 200 searches and 20 tag views.
Tariff 3: 18.99 USD per month for 300 searches and 30 tag views.
Tariff 4: 26.99 USD per month for 500 searches and 50 tag views.
Tariff 5: 32.99 USD per month for 700 searches and 70 tag views.
Tariff 6: 41.99 USD per month for 1,000 searches and 100 tag views.
Tariff 7: 57.99 USD per month for 1,500 searches and 150 tag views.
Premium Yearly: custom pricing, billed Annually, with ad removal, tag-viewer and number-query information, private mode and a Premium badge.

The tariffs scale search and tag-view allowances together, from 100 searches and 10 views to 1,500 searches and 150 views. Choose them only if those quotas match regular lookup use; Premium’s lower monthly price is a different package, centered on ad removal and premium features rather than a stated search-and-view allowance. Getcontact also offers a 7-day trial.

Platforms

Getcontact is available on Android, iOS and the web. The web version requires opening the phone app and scanning a code, and the service specifies minimum app versions for Android and iOS.

Who it's for

Getcontact is a good fit for people who want automatic unwanted-call protection plus a community-based way to identify unfamiliar numbers. It is less suited to people unwilling to grant contact access for caller ID and spam detection, or to users who need high-volume lookup without weighing the corresponding monthly quotas.

Pros and cons

Pro: Caller ID, robocall blocking and community reports combine identification with automatic screening and shared spam reporting.
Pro: Profile visibility, editing and deactivation controls are available through the Privacy Management Centre, including to non-subscribers.
Con: Contact access may be requested, and contact lists may be synchronized when relevant functions are enabled, a meaningful privacy consideration for caller-ID use.
Con: Search and tag-view tariffs impose paired monthly quotas, so frequent lookup users must choose a tier that covers both kinds of activity.
Con: Computer access still relies on the phone app for code scanning.

Verdict

Choose Getcontact if you want automatic spam protection backed by shared caller reports, with optional paid tag and number-lookup features. Its strongest case is the combination of community identification and call screening; look elsewhere if contact access is a deal-breaker or your lookup needs do not fit the paired quotas.
