Overview

Fellow brings recordings, transcripts, summaries, decisions, and automatically identified action items together in a Meeting Recap. It can capture meetings in Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack Huddles, and in-person settings. That breadth makes it relevant to teams with varied meeting formats, while botless recording through its desktop and mobile apps offers an alternative when a bot should not join the call.

Users can search transcripts, summaries, and notes from past meetings with Ask Fellow, which can surface answers, decisions, and action items. Speaker labels, calendar integrations, and note templates round out a workflow built around both preparing for and following up on meetings.

Key features

Capture and follow-through

Fellow turns meeting capture into a record that includes audio and video as well as transcripts, summaries, decisions, and action items. Speaker labels and searchable archives help teams revisit who said what and locate past outcomes; the value is strongest for teams that need to carry commitments between meetings, not just keep notes.

The AI Note Taker supports transcription in 93 languages, while the product supports 99 transcription languages. These are substantial language counts for multilingual teams, though the two figures describe different scopes and should not be treated as interchangeable.

Privacy and administration

Admins can configure consent workflows and retention policies, including optional zero-day retention; users can pause and resume recording for off-the-record conversations. Fellow says meeting data is not used to train its own or third-party AI models, including on Free. It is SOC 2 Type II certified, HIPAA-eligible, GDPR compliant, and CCPA compliant. Enterprise adds RBAC, SSO/SAML, provisioning, audit logs, retention controls, and a Super Admin API, making that tier more appropriate for organizations with formal access and governance needs.

Pricing

Fellow has a Free plan, paid plans starting at $7/user/mo billed annually, and a 14-day trial. When the trial ends, the workspace moves to Free. Workspaces are billed monthly or yearly according to active users at the start of each billing cycle; payment can be made by credit card, check, or bank transfer. All plans include chat and email support, while higher tiers add onboarding and dedicated account management.

Free: $0.00 USD per free. It includes five AI notes and five AI recordings per user for life, with a maximum of five seats. That is enough to assess the workflow, but the lifetime quotas and seat cap make it a poor fit for ongoing team use.
Team: $7.00 USD per month per user, billed annually, or $11 billed monthly. For small teams, it raises the allowance to 10 AI notes per user per month and 10 AI recordings per user, with a 20-seat maximum. It is the lower-cost paid option, but still has usage quotas.
Business: $15.00 USD per month per user, billed annually, or $23 billed monthly. It provides unlimited AI notes and recordings and allows up to 50 seats, fitting organizations that have outgrown Team's quotas.
Enterprise: $25.00 USD per month per user, billed annually, with custom pricing through sales. It starts at 10 users, has no maximum seat count, and includes unlimited notes and recordings plus advanced control, security, and AI meeting support. Its minimum size and custom-pricing route make it a larger-organization choice rather than a small-team upgrade.

Platforms

Fellow is available on Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, and the web, alongside an extension and API. This range accommodates desktop and mobile use, including botless audio capture in its desktop and mobile apps.

Who it's for

Fellow is best suited to teams that want searchable meeting records and assigned follow-through across multiple meeting platforms, especially when privacy, retention, or administrative controls matter. The Free tier works for a small-scale evaluation; teams needing regular capture should budget for a paid plan. Organizations requiring unlimited usage and broader administration have a clearer fit in Business or Enterprise.

Pros and cons

Pro: Recaps combine transcripts, decisions, summaries, and action items, reducing the separation between meeting records and follow-up.
Pro: Search across prior transcripts, summaries, and notes makes accumulated meeting history useful for finding decisions and tasks.
Pro: Botless capture, configurable consent, and pause/resume controls provide options for different meeting privacy needs.
Pro: Enterprise includes access, provisioning, retention, and audit controls suited to organizational governance.
Con: Free permits only five AI notes and five recordings per user for life and caps workspaces at five seats, so it is not a durable free workflow.
Con: Team still limits notes and recordings, while unlimited usage begins at Business's higher price.

Alternatives

Choose MeetGeek if a free forever plan with three hours of monthly transcription and three months of transcript storage better matches your needs. Notta may suit users who want a free plan with one seat and 120 transcription minutes per month. Consider Bluedot if its free plan's five lifetime meetings and Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps fit a lighter capture need.

Laxis is another freemium option. Avoma offers Startup at $19.00 USD per month billed annually, with up to 25 paid seats and unlimited free view-only seats. tl;dv has a Free plan with unlimited recordings and transcriptions, which may appeal when those allowances matter most. Read AI offers five meetings per month and support for more than 20 languages on Free. Otter.ai is another freemium option.

Verdict

Choose Fellow if your team needs meeting capture that becomes searchable recaps and actionable follow-up, with meaningful consent, privacy, and enterprise controls. Its principal trade-off is cost at scale: Free is tightly capped, Team remains quota-based, and unlimited capture starts at Business. Teams that only need modest transcription or recording allowances may find a narrower alternative a better fit.
