Overview

Dextr is a personal CRM for people who want more context than a standard contact list provides. It is a natural fit for frequent travelers, active networkers, and anyone who meets a lot of people. Its free plan covers unlimited contacts and core relationship tools; the main reason to pay is access to interaction logging, business card scanning, and the Mac app.

Tags, custom relationship types, contact groups, and reminders give users several ways to organize contacts and keep up with them. Dextr syncs with native iOS Contacts, and iCloud can keep its notes and relationship organization consistent across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. That makes it most compelling for people already invested in Apple devices, rather than users looking for broad platform coverage. Browse our Personal CRM Software directory for more options.

Key features

Flexible contact organization: Tags, custom relationship types, and groups let users arrange contacts around their own relationships. Follow-up reminders add a practical nudge to reconnect.
AI Organizer Assistant: It helps organize contacts and clean up duplicate or incomplete entries. That addresses list maintenance, though it does not replace the value of adding interaction notes yourself.
Apple contact and device sync: Changes can be reflected in native iOS Contacts, while iCloud can keep tags, relationships, notes, and organization consistent across Apple devices.
Interaction logging and business card scanning: Both are Pro features. Logging adds a way to keep a record of interactions, while scanning can help bring business-card details into a contact workflow.
Import and export: Both are supported, giving users a way to move contact information into or out of the service.

Privacy and permissions

Dextr says contact data and user content are not sent to Dextr or third parties. It may collect app and device information, diagnostics, attribution, and subscription information; it names PostHog for analytics and diagnostics, Dub for link attribution, and RevenueCat for subscription infrastructure. The privacy policy describes encrypted data transmission and access controls suited to the sensitivity of the information handled.

Contacts access is required. Notifications, calendar, and camera access are optional for reminders, event integration, and business card scanning. Deleting an account removes Dextr-specific tags, relationships, notes, and custom fields while preserving native iOS Contacts.

Pricing

Dextr is freemium, with a free plan and a 14-day trial. The trial length is stated, but no separate trial terms are provided.

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	0.00 USD per free; billed Free forever	Unlimited contacts, AI organization, relationships and tags, reminders, places, and events
Pro	14.99 USD per year; billed annually	Everything in Free, plus interaction logging, business card scanning, and the Mac app

Free is unusually complete on contact volume and core organization, so users who mainly want tags, relationship context, and reminders have little reason to upgrade. Pro is the choice for people who want a record of interactions, scan business cards, or use the Mac app. The annual term makes it less suitable for someone who wants a short paid commitment.

Platforms

Dextr is available on iOS and macOS. iCloud sync can keep its relationship data and organization consistent across iPhone, iPad, and Mac; Android and web platforms are not part of its stated platform offering.

Who it's for

Dextr suits people with busy social or professional lives who want to remember how contacts fit into their lives and when to follow up. Its unlimited-contact free tier is especially useful for a growing address book. It is a weaker fit for people who need Android or web access, or who need interaction logging and business card scanning without a paid subscription.

Pros and cons

Pro: Unlimited contacts, reminders, tags, relationships, and AI organization are included in the forever-free plan, so basic relationship management does not require a subscription.
Pro: Native iOS Contacts sync and iCloud support keep Dextr connected to an Apple-centered contact workflow.
Pro: Account deletion preserves native iOS Contacts while removing Dextr-specific relationship data.
Con: Interaction logging, business card scanning, and the Mac app are reserved for Pro, despite being useful extensions of the core contact workflow.
Con: The stated platforms are limited to iOS and macOS, which rules out users who need Android or web access.
Con: Contacts access is mandatory, and users concerned about diagnostics or attribution should weigh Dextr's stated collection categories and named service providers.

Alternatives

Coleva is another free-plan personal CRM for iOS; consider it if its free plan's closest-20-people scope suits your needs.
Contacts+ Personal CRM is a better fit if you need Android, web, or API access, or want a free plan capped at 1,000 contacts with daily sync.
KeepContact may suit someone who wants a tightly capped free start of up to 15 contacts and three reminders, with a monthly Pro option.
Kinu is worth considering if you want Android, iOS, and web access and a free tier for up to 10 people, while accepting no cross-device sync on that tier.
Revere is another iOS and macOS option; its free plan includes unlimited people, notes, and reminders.
SoonCall offers a free plan centered on five meaningful relationships, catch-up planning, and smart suggestions.
Yenesow is an iOS alternative with a free plan that includes an AI relationship assistant and capped connections, conversations, nudges, and plans.
Fabriq is available on Android and iOS; consider it if cross-platform access matters and its All Access plan's 150-person cap suits you.

Verdict

Dextr is a strong choice for Apple users who want unlimited contacts, relationship organization, and reminders without paying. Choose Pro if interaction logging, business card scanning, or the Mac app matters enough to justify 14.99 USD per year. Look elsewhere if you need Android or web access, or want those Pro capabilities without an annual subscription.
